So, throw our best in a midweek game, and save tonight's guys for this weekend's Pac-12 series with Stanford? The guy who blew most of last year's late losses was Mulholland. Our several-time All-American. So at least we lost throwing our best, if that's any consolation. Throw our best? Of course not. However, relief pitchers should be able to pitch an inning in a mid week game, without being spent for Stanford. They should be able to. Tonight they couldn't. We still got the W, and that's always the bottom line. |

The saying the players on the field determine the game is true. It is true to me that those players also saved Canham and Dorman from an embarrassing loss with the bench decisions.

Crazy to go from thinking we would ten run and save pitching to using a pile of pitchers including our main relievers As long as we don't burn up any main guys tomorrow, we should be ok for our "little buddies" from Palo Alto. After winning tonight, tomorrow is when you pitch some of those afterthought relievers.(Better have a good offense & a strong stomach) |
