I don't think we have a thread going for this. Pac 12 not up to their usual level. Many years nobody lost in the first round, there are already 2 this year (Colorado and Washington St.), and Oregon is in a bit of trouble against Belmont. Were down 6, now only 2, 3:45 left. Ducks have been doing a terrible job guarding the 3 point line, and Belmont just keeps hitting them.

Thanks for starting this nwhoopfan, it was needed. U of 0 just stopped a shot at the rim to send it into 2nd overtime. Belmont is impressive on defense.

Down go the Ducks. Second year in a row Belmont has pulled off a 12-5 upset.

Oregon had so many chances to take control of this game, and they just refused to do it. So much talent, but so lackluster. Congrats to Belmont, they earned it. Pac 12 kinda sucks this year. Now only 2-3, Arizona still to play today.

It's early, but Arizona laying an egg. Down 14-9 thru Q1. I tried watching. Just so many missed shots, I couldn't stick with it. Maybe Utah can make some more noise, but we might be back to the bad old days of the Pac 12 being just Stanford.

Definitely a down year for the Pac12, but that should have been obvious to all of us when Stanford ran away with the crown. I'm not saying Stanford was not good. I'm saying nobody else was, or the race would have been closer. As for the ducks, their team, despite decent talent just didn't seem to have chemistry....not totally unlike the Beavs, who I think had a chemistry problem of their own.

Arizona seems to have woken up and took the lead right at halftime.

AZ managed to pull ahead and stay ahead in the last few mins and win 72-67, while U of zero, did not. This might be a subscriber only article so I'll quote some below: theathletic.com/3197183/2022/03/19/weve-got-to-come-back-hungrier-oregon-never-found-consistency-this-season-or-in-first-round-loss-to-belmont/“It’s just kind of been our season in a nutshell, to be honest with you,” coach Kelly Graves said. “We just have never been able to really put it together from injuries in the early season to just some inconsistencies late. And that was the story of this Oregon season — a series of inconsistencies, stretches of games in which the Ducks couldn’t put 40 minutes together. Keys that couldn’t be achieved by a team that bubbled over with raw talent. “If I had to kind of boil the whole season down into one word, it’s inconsistencies — daily effort, game production, leadership, coaching, I didn’t do a great job; I was inconsistent as well. Same with my staff,” Graves said.

Pellington did a McDonald impersonation, had a 30 point game. Having Reese back was big for Arizona. Their offense just looks bad for long stretches, but their D keeps them in most games. They really cranked it up down the stretch and forced a bunch of TOs. Give credit to UNLV though, they were a tough out. Lindy La Rocque has only been there 2 years now, but I think she could move on up to a higher profile coaching job very soon if she wants it.

She's been really, really impressive in her two years there.

Anybody watching Iowa-Creighton? Started out at an extremely high scoring pace, but cooled off a bit. 23-17 Blue Jays thru Q1. Refs are swallowing the whistle, several hockey style body checks w/ no calls for the visitors. That building is gonna explode if the Hawkeyes don't start getting some calls.

She seems to high quality recruits to come to SLC, and IMHO a much better place to live and have a great career.

First 5 minutes looked like both teams would score triple digits. 23-17 Creighton at the end of Q1. Then both teams went cold. Tons of missed layups, both teams shot 35% for the game...and Creighton won by 2. Caitlin Clark just could not get going, 5-19 shooting. She had a near triple double, but brutal shooting. Czinano did her thing, but the rest of the Hawkeyes provided very little. 14,000+ fans made a lot of noise, but couldn't pull their team through to victory.

Texas thumping Utah, up 14 at halftime. I started out watching, but no fun at all, gave up.
