Wow, those terrible shooters Wilson and Brink hit 3-5 behind the arc against Colorado. Amazing that two really bad shooters got totally lucky 2 games in a row. Completely defying the odds.
Or maybe they aren't such terrible shooters, like I said.

Either way the statement that Rueck’s game plan was to let them shoot open 3 pointers is just silly.

I see we're doubling down. Wilson has hit just shy of 100 3's in her career. That indicates she can certainly hit them. And like I said Brink is hitting 36% for her career (actually vaulted up to .373 now), pretty good for a post player, and not remotely what I would describe as "terrible."
I also see we're really into cherry picking. Right before that set of numbers listed for Wilson, she went 1-2 1-1 2-3 1-1 1-5 1-3 and 2-4. That's pretty freaking good.
Oh, and I'm not seeing how bad Brink was previously either. A number of games w/ no attempts. I'll go back to her worst game of 1-5, after that 0-0 0-1 0-0 0-0 0-0 1-1 and 1-3. You are just imaging things, cuz there's nothing at all wrong with that. Very low attempts, and a perfectly fine percentage. The 2 games before the 1-5 were 1-1 and 1-2.

FWIW Stanford had no trouble w/ Colorado. Close thru Q1, then jumped to a 15 point half time lead and cruised to a 71-45 victory.

And if you really can’t tell that I do by my observations posted here then I don’t know what to tell you. But you and I see two completely different things. Against Stanford the Beaver defenders were stuck in the key while they shot baseline threes. And if what you’re saying is true, that’s one of the dumbest strategies in the history of basketball. I can hit shots with no one contesting, and I’m no Judge Smails!

Anything over 40% is very dangerous. 35-40% is reasonable. Even though 30% seems fairly low, it's equivalent to hitting 45% from 2 point range.

Rueck and Tara both do a lot of defensive game planning based on percentages. Stanford is going to let Kennedy Brown shoot 15-footers all day because, at this point in her career, they’re low percentage shots.
It was pretty clear OSU would live with open threes from Jones and Wilson, both under 30% for the year.
