Scott in the postgame interview with Ron Callan. Choked up a little talking about Taya C. Another indication that Taya's likely done.

Glad it is over. Lousy. Hard to watch. We are great at Turnovers. Open a Bakery. Not a good Team at all. Who really wants to watch this.?

What stands out to me is the difference in defense and defensive philosophies. Stanford plays a ball hawking pressure defense, contesting the passing lanes, the Beavs felt fortunate to just get a decent shot off, and when they did have a decent look, they rushed their shots because of the pressure. Whereas OSU plays a sagging man or zone with little ball pressure, letting Stanford run their offense and getting good shots at will. Much of this is due to the fact that Stanford has superior athletes and players. But part of it has to do with the defensive philosophies of each coach.

Can't have Greta, Talia, Taya, and Kennedy combine to shoot 17.2% from the floor and expect to win. Only 12 TOs and we out rebounded them, but shooting less than 30% from the floor will never get it done against Stanford.

I merely pointed out that Mack is a beast on the floor and we otherwise have some serious needs. That we are not competing well in the Pac-12 this year is a fact, not fiction. Something needs to change.
Whatever worked in the past is clearly not working now - several other teams in the conference have not only caught up to us - they have blown right by us.
We've had better players in the recent past than what we're seeing now. Let's hope the current ones come along more - there is still time for that to happen.
I'm not talking about the Stanford game today - I'm talking about this disappointing season. Maybe next year, but there is a lot of ground to make up in order to get back anywhere near the top, let alone on top of it.

This team takes a lot of difficult shots. They also waste way too much time to get moving and end up throwing up bad ones when the shot clock is expiring. Yes Stanford causes issues but not as many the team has in games. They have been passing up open shots all year also, because of a clear lack of confidence in their shots. And frankly, it's been justified a lot of the time. We just don't have that go to scorer, other than TVO and she has been streaky. I hope we see some big time maturation of some of these young players, because the future is bleak losing Mack and Corosdale. They were by far our most consistent players and scorers. Taya in particular did all the little things this year. Need some players to step up because TVO can't do it all on her own.

I don't anticipate Rueck will change his defensive philosophies anytime soon. It hasn't been one of our bigger issues this year, at least not consistently. Our defensive FG% and 3FG% are both second in the league.

I like the previous poster who said Rueck needs to study this film all summer. Analyze what type of players we are lacking? Gotta have an offense that matches the type of players we have. We had one player today that could create their own shot--Ellie Mack. Rueck didn't recruit Ellie out of HS. 20-21 season we had Aleah and 19-20 Pivec, Aleah, and Destiny. Maybe Greta will get there but you can see the indecision every time she receives the ball. We need more perimeter players that can handle the ball and get to the rim. Fingers crossed we can find some in the portal.
Hopefully Taylor comes back healed, which will be a great help. I believe KB is going to get a huge challenge for playing time with the two post players we have coming in. Going to miss TC if she decides not to come back. Still love the OSU WBB Program. Will continue to support bigly. GO BEAVS!

When our starting center went down, our inside game went into the bin and we didn't have the outside shooting to make up for it.

Stanford basically sagged off her and dared her to shoot. Something to practice on the off-season!

I can't see you going there, now stay focused, look to the future, keep your eye on the ball on what William44 is looking at. Hindsight is 2020 to bring billsaab into this.
