Eleven Beavs played and nine scored in the first quarter as Rueck found time for his bench early. Beavs currently up 27-23.
I like that Greta is playing the point during this quarter, allowing Talia to play off the ball and giving her a bit of a break from her customary ballhandling responsibiities.

Watching this game while I should be working. Couple of things, If we are a top 25 team we sure don't look like it. Barely keeping a lead against Pacific in the first half. TVO has transformed her body? Ok. She sure still looks slow. Can't shake a defender against a WCC team? Good luck in the Pac12. Mitrovic. Why do you keep bringing the ball down?  ?? Lots of bad passes and sloppy play. This team has a ways to go. Count me as nervous about this season. Oh, and someone tell the OSU stream folks to STOP running replays of every made Beav basket while the game is still going on. Who in the hell thinks that's a good idea? Ok, back to "work". |

Jones played 5 total minutes and picked up 2 fouls before sitting for the rest of the half. Beavs lead 30-29 at the half.
Beavs are shooting 39% from the field and 25% from distance at the half.
Greta and Talia are a combined 4/13 from the field and 1/7 from beyond the arc.
A less-than-inspiring first half, but 20 minutes remain to produce a positive result.

Yeah, team just doesn't look good. Sloppy, no crispness on offense. Beavs have a big size advantage...and it's doing them absolutely no good whatsoever. Size is useless if you can't figure out how to utilize it.

Pacific is 2-4. Lost to UC Riverside by 8, San Jose St. by 11, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi by 20, and Rice by 8. Only D1 win was over CSUB. This should not be remotely close. Beavs are making the Tigers look fairly good.

It's tough watching a Beaver team struggle from 3pt range. Beavs are not yet to the point (this season) that they're playing with any smoothness to their offense - and it's' not really fun to watch. Tough order this season with so many new 'parts'....but haven't seen much improvement through 5-1/2/ games. PAC 12 season here before you know it. |

Beavs have been beaten repeatedly in transition today as the players are not getting back quickly enough. Beavs now up by 1 with 2:43 to play in third quarter.

I was completely unaware of the refs in the first half. Not to worry, they've made several really crappy calls in Q3. Fouls starting to pile up and Pacific has a sizable advantage in FTA.

Tied at 53 thru Q3. Beavs 6-23 behind the arc. This has been a frustrating game to watch. Do they have 1 good quarter in them today?

I know it sounds like whining, but things like this jump out at me. Total fouls is close at 11-9, but FTs is 12-3. I don't know how disparities like that happen.
