I am glad for Him. I hope He does what He wants to do. Things are not open in Oregon and the restrictions have made a mess of life. He served us well and I doubt with political climate He would ever coach Here again. That is just out of the question. Many pluses there. Not 1/4 filled stadiums if You are lucky. You've been banging this drum a whole lot, so I'll bite. Even speculating that Evan Bennett could have left the football team because of mask requirements.... So what's not open in Oregon at the moment? Specifically Benton County/Corvallis where PC lives? I think both extremes give way too much credit to "political climate" in people deciding what to do. Pat's a tough old SOB who has lived in and travelled the entire country during his pro baseball years, and as a coach. He's a good man with street savvy and hustle and seems to be very fond of living in Benton County. I too, have to ask, what is not open? We are about a week from the Knights baseball, and by fall we should be able to get a lot of people into Reser. If wearing a mask is a restriction too far in those businesses and environments where it is still required, then you are a lot more sensitive than most people I know.

For some, myself included, the direction of the public schools in OR is not what we are looking for.

Yea good point.....I'd pay for private school if I could afford it....maybe gramps will be kicking down the dough for that.....it's a good investment, imo

Some of what I speak pertains to curriculum direction

Some say banging the drum. Many States are open for business. Not 1/3 or 1/2 open. Our Governor is listening to foolish advice. First off Schools open. 2 Nd no Masks. Third no more police State. Some of You More leftist types just do not get it. I got My Vaccine so why where a mask? People who are Elderly and have pre existing issues should have gotten the shots first. They didn’t. The whole thing has been politicized by those in power. Meanwhile OSU does not know about attendance. Luckily my dollars go elsewhere now. Sad thing is I do not have to offend the ones who wear masks. Hope all of You stay well and Go Beavs. That is what we will want. And get lives back to normal. It is not there yet. It should be.

So somehow you believe the state of Oregon is currently only 1/3 open and in your mind this may be a factor in why Pat Casey takes a job in Louisiana? Got it.

Look, I don't necessarily like wearing masks, but if anyone thinks that is the reason Pat is considering coming out of retirement to move to a different state, that is just plain stupid.
I try to rationalize the mask issue. If you don't want to wear a mask, maybe you should move to Myanmar or the middle east right now and complain to them? If wearing a f-ing mask is your biggest problem in the world, you are having a serious case of "1st world problems"

OK, then move to Burma instead.

Wow. This thread is insane.
You know, Pat Casey is wealthy enough to have picked up and moved long, long ago if he was unhinged by Oregon’s covid response. Also, making a cross-country move now is a little bit like closing the barn door after the horse has escaped. The end is in sight.
Projecting your own insecurities and issues on Pat Casey isn’t very becoming. I understand. You hope that your hero thinks like you do. But it’s sad.
