not to get off topic, but what's the latest on Casey? Oh yeah, that guy. Last I heard he's being driven out of state by uppity minorities who don't know their place. But maybe I missed something in the translation.

not to get off topic, but what's the latest on Casey? I predict that Pat Casey will not take the job at LSU even if it is offered. I have no information about an offer and don't know anyone at LSU.

I heard Pat Casey is a raving heterosexual. You never know what the reason he did or didn't get the job.

That’s interesting. So, teaching prejudice against citizens of European decent is somehow acceptable? Seriously? I did a term paper one time on the historic significance of the Age of Discovery and how that 300 to 400 year period determined the world we have today. I wonder if they teach the historic importance of Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan, Amerigo Verpucci, Herman Cortes, Henry Hudson, Vasco Balboa, Francis Drake and others. After all, only one civilization developed the science and technology necessary to circumnavigate the globe and that civilization was in Europe. Without this era, we would not have the United States. From this quote " 70+% of non-whites who routinely vote Democratic don't have the ability to realize that they are just being used for votes." > It appears to be a blatant insult to the intelligence of any minority person voting for a Democrat. Followed by this: "After all, only one civilization developed the science and technology necessary to circumnavigate the globe and that civilization was in Europe. Without this era, we would not have the United States." I think one can easily see how the superiority of European civilization led to cultural and societal norms that not only ignored the contribution of other ethnic groups in history, but have been used to justify ANY action taken to retain that superiority. Many college students of my generation took a class called "The History of Western Civilization." While the content of the text was not inherently biased against a particular group, it was pretty easy to determine the perspective from which it was written. Human history is full of lessons about the tendency for people to seek to protect what they have and to protect their opportunity to improve the life for the family. What happens when a group uses this to justify taking rights and life from others is the history of war. If you want to RESPECT everyone you have to be willing to allow their pursuit of happiness to have the same value as yours. This is great.... But doesn't our constitution pretty much cover all this? Yea, we didn't live it at the beginning.....different times....different norms...... but times have certainly changed. Blowing it all up at this point does what exactly? So the end game here is capitalism bad, Marxism good, right? I'm sure that'll go well.

Fact is that treating people like people in the work place is the best way to "capitalize" on the their contribution to profits. Antagonizing people, insulting their intelligence, or simply being offensive have not been successful management techniques in my years in business.

Being the only civilization with the ability to sail around the world gave Europeans a huge advantage. The European explorers, conquistadors and merchants were able to spread economic activity, political philosophy, religion and colonize much of the world. The western hemisphere exists today because what occurred beginning in the 15th century. Yes, the Age of Discovery was ugly at times. However, in the grand scheme, it may have been the best thing to happen for all mankind. Now back to Beaver Baseball. What do we do to improve our offense? I’m still confused about our pitching philosophy. We give up way too many free passes.

Very disappointed the big o bringing up Luke Heinrich. Maybe that was a sticking point but at the time I read a lot of articles and feel The young man was ruined by public and sloppy gandering. I think He was innocent. I believe Casey did the right thing. I think this issue played a lot on his stepping away. The left is relentless. I happen to not like either party so I can criticize the deep broken culture.,Race theory is idiotic and the reason I have moved on from supporting the Beavers with my money. The nasty attitude of kids I engaged was an eye opener for me. I am sure that LSU with the help of the Oregonian did its diligence. Critical race theory the woke culture and the restrictions abd the crime are reasons for people to take action to stop it. That is really sad to see. I wish all good health and that the Beavers win in their sports.

And much more of the latter.

Please explain, in your own words, why race theory is idiotic. (I got money that says you can't.) Please explain the connection between race theory and OSU athletics. (hint: there is none.) Critical race theory is rank racism disguised as something more benign. It teaches that people who are ethnically European, even my white four-year-old daughter, is a inherently a bigot and that she can never not be a bigot. It also teaches that ethnic Africans (although that word is problematic, but all better words have already been deemed "racist), whether they were born before my four-year-old's inexorable racism was unleashed the world or not. In a phrase, it is racist against ethnic Europeans and demeaning to ethnic Europeans. It is a lie. Rank racism, like critical race theory, have no place in this or any other civil society. As to the relation between critical race theory and OSU athletics, I will let billsaab explain, because I have no idea. No, it isn't and no, it doesn't. Critical Race Theory examines institutions and their role in propagating, however harmlessly, the racial divide. It is from this that we can talk about systemic racism. If you don't agree that there is systemic racism, then please explain how the horror of Tulsa was able to be covered up for so long. And the many other similar events. Further, Critical Race Theory honors the personal stories of minorities--their experiences and their lives. If we want to do anything about racism and inequality in this country, we first have to listen. What's that old saying? Walk a mile in their shoes? What Critical Race Theory aims to do is to remind you that if you are not working against racism, then you are complying with racism. It isn't enough to say, like previously claimed in this thread, that "I like those people." Or something of that sort. That's just lip service, which is just a step away from being a hypocrite. What are you doing to improve yourself and your ideas on race relations in the US? What are you doing to help minorities around you? I see Critical Race Theory as a call to action. To listen, to learn, to improve yourself.

Melton, Meckler, Donkey, Dukart, Gretler, Boyd, Dernedde Frisch, Pfennings, Hjerpe, Washburn, Mundt, Salgado, Watkins, Lawson, Townsend I think we can build on that....and I'm sure you throw in a few more names and a few more will emerge.....if a guy like Mcmahan gets his mojo back could really help....or if McDowell somehow develops to hit at this level....

Now back to Beaver Baseball. What do we do to improve our offense? I’m still confused about our pitching philosophy. We give up way too many free passes. Easy. We get the college of engineering to set up electronic pitch calling. Then we get the college of computer sciences to hack the program and give us a better zone. It's the American solution for an American game! /s

And Oregon, which was constitutionally designed as a white's only place, still has a lot of work to do - that latest poll showing that 40% of the state's population has a racial belief profile more in line with the Proud Boys than the US Constitution.
