Can we just agree that it's ok to criticize, and still support? Sometimes it seems as though ANY criticism is met with the same response as what the OP of this thread gets. It's not the same thing. And it leads to a pissing match. Criticizing is fine, but the "he's in over his head" "semi-competent" stuff just rings hollow, particularly when Jonathan Smith has made PLENTY of strange decisions and gets nowhere near the vitriol and dismissal Canham does. Let the guy find his way. Like many others have said, recruiting hasn't fallen off, we'll all survive if we don't make it to Omaha for several more years. Make the tourney in the majority of seasons, give us a chance. He does that, I'm fine with him staying as longs as he wants. I'm not referring to the "Can Canham" crowd. That's obviously a ridiculous stance, at this point |

This more to blame the university for hiring such a PISS POOR unqualified coach for the baseball program. Mitch Canham has single handedly SANK a ELITE BASEBALL PROGRAM, and turned it into a laughing stock across the country. Across social media, rivals and opponent fans are hysterically laughing at the Beaver Baseball Program and calling it “The True Baseball Poverty Program” after watching a once respected, and Elite Program become a abysmal joke across the country in the eyes of many people. Yesterday’s loss to nobody Portland Pilots, cemented this fact. A Elite Baseball Program does not Whiff on a coaching hire to appease their donors and alumni. They go and get the most qualified, experienced and best coach out there. A Elite Baseball Program does NOT hire a coach with Zero college head coaching experience!! END THE CANHAM EXPERIMENT, NOW!! Lordy, lordy peeps.... This is what Beav fans do 2 one of our own?!?! One canceled year & a pandemic year & peeps ready 2 punt?!?!
I thought it was laughable during Bailes year as the head skipper... that so many fans sat on their couches & turned into Joe Torre's & Bruce Bochy. Bailey is, and always will be, a solid coach & great leader of young men.
Now.... back to Mitch, let's give him time 2 put his stamp on this program and then he can be judged on the merits. Good or bad time well tell. That time is not now.
I coached college baseball for many years and also understand that results are the end judge. Step off the ledge, take a deep breath & remember winning is really hard to do at this competitive level.
