So the cyber bullies are picking on the OSU baseball program. And the logical "woke" thing to do is fire the coach??? Someone wake me up when this nightmare is done............ Go Beavs!! I woke up this morning, but boy it was hard to get out of bed. Ohhh, you mean the Qanon perjorative invention of "woke" - all I can say is "ok Boomer" (I mutter that to myself all the time) - and get off my grass! I can hardly wait for Saturday and trying to crash the gates at Goss - I might not be able to struggle past the Gen Z security kids anymore, but I can stand in urchin alley if I have to and fight the kiddies for a foul ball or two. Have my foul ball from the 2006 regional autographed by Coaches Casey, Canham and Jenkins

This is obviously a boomer comment but boomers birth years are 46-64? X'ers are 65-? And what's after that? And I barely made the boomer cut. 1965 - 1983 = Gen Xers, aka "Slackers" 1984 - 2003 = Millennials 2004 - 2021 = Gen Zers There is some overlap at the boundaries with the millennials 1980 - 1987

This more to blame the university for hiring such a PISS POOR unqualified coach for the baseball program. Mitch Canham has single handedly SANK a ELITE BASEBALL PROGRAM, and turned it into a laughing stock across the country. Across social media, rivals and opponent fans are hysterically laughing at the Beaver Baseball Program and calling it “The True Baseball Poverty Program” after watching a once respected, and Elite Program become a abysmal joke across the country in the eyes of many people. Yesterday’s loss to nobody Portland Pilots, cemented this fact. A Elite Baseball Program does not Whiff on a coaching hire to appease their donors and alumni. They go and get the most qualified, experienced and best coach out there. A Elite Baseball Program does NOT hire a coach with Zero college head coaching experience!! END THE CANHAM EXPERIMENT, NOW!! (While we can still save some shred of respect) #FireCanham #DitchMitch Iron. Just in case you need it. www.multco.us/behavioral-health/mental-health-crisis-interventionI think a spanking might do more good.

The bone will have more power and influence being closer to the actual game.

My guess - big league pitchers can rely on exceptional fastballs D1 hitters can hit fastballs anywhere near the plate Brushing hitters back is a big league strategy ( the ability to not hit the batter requires pretty good control ) D1 hitters TRY to get hit and crowd the plate to reframe the pitch for the plate umpire We need more off speed and quirky, hard breaking balls to get the swing and miss benefit
Our own hitters seem to time up and crush fast balls , but we cannot handle off speed 'swing and miss' breaking balls !
Summary - Keep Canham , but get a D1 ( qualified ) , pitching coach !

Canham has trust in Doorman, so I'm willing to trust the coach at this point......but, you know Doorman has to be feeling a bit of heat, especially with the all the recent meltdowns by the staff.

Our pitching coach came from a D1 program. I thought he came from Mariners lower league program ! Dorman came from GCU as their pitching coach.

Our pitching coach came from a D1 program. I thought he came from Mariners lower league program ! He's done both. He coached in the Mariner farm system and was a pitching coach for Grand Canyon.

Bottom line...neither Canham nor Dorman had any business taking over an NCAA baseball program, much less an elite program like OSU baseball. Both lack experience and judging by the consistentcy of their in-game management errors, IMO neither are likely to ever have the chops to be successful collegiate baseball coaches.
No matter...we're undoubtedly stuck with them through at least the end of the 2022 season. The question is will the OSU administration have the courage to look elsewhere after next year. Don't hold your breath..

Don't hold your breath.. Did you say the same thing about Yeskie when PC hired him in 2009? Nate only had 3 years of coaching experience at UNLV, yet he got hired to an elite program. That’s the same number of years Dorman spent with Grand Canyon. Not to mention his 4 years coaching in the minors prior to his stint with GCU. So really, Dorman was equally if not more qualified to become the pitching coach at OSU than Nate Yeskie. Just a thought for you.
