what do you really think ? I’m thinking that it’s embarrassing to be a beavers baseball fan right now with EVERYONE laughing at us. Thank f%#* for football and basketball season coming up! So nobody online is laughing at our 2-5 football season, but they're all laughing at 32-18 RPI ranked 21 baseball team......makes sense. And, anyone who uses the word "elite" as much as you do must be an uck football fan. They're the only ones that drop that word in every sentence. |

This more to blame the university for hiring such a PISS POOR unqualified coach for the baseball program. Mitch Canham has single handedly SANK a ELITE BASEBALL PROGRAM, and turned it into a laughing stock across the country. Across social media, rivals and opponent fans are hysterically laughing at the Beaver Baseball Program and calling it “The True Baseball Poverty Program” after watching a once respected, and Elite Program become a abysmal joke across the country in the eyes of many people. Yesterday’s loss to nobody Portland Pilots, cemented this fact. A Elite Baseball Program does not Whiff on a coaching hire to appease their donors and alumni. They go and get the most qualified, experienced and best coach out there. A Elite Baseball Program does NOT hire a coach with Zero college head coaching experience!! END THE CANHAM EXPERIMENT, NOW!! (While we can still save some shred of respect) #FireCanham #DitchMitch I hope ur being sarcastic.... I'm not a positive Polly, but if ur being serious, then ur way over the top, and somewhat off-base here, imo. It's been a frustrating year in a lot of ways, and I'm not going to make excuses for the choking moments we've had, and there have been quite a few......that said, the recruiting is taking an up-tick so that's a good sign. And hopefully our young guys, which there are plenty of, gain mental toughness from this season.....cuz there is talent there |

Like I said, across all platforms of social media, rival fans, and opponent fans are laughing at the beavers baseball program right now. I’ve seen the phrase “Baseball Poverty Program” atlest 167+ times yesterday. The beavs baseball program is getting super roasted all over Social media. Are you 5? Other fans are laughing at our program....waahhhhh. Maybe it's time to get off of social media. For the current talent on the roster, this team is performing about where they should. But then how will he know if they are getting "super roasted"? |

WOW! Coach Canham has basically coached one season. Beavers are a top 30 team nationally and still have an opportunity to win or tie for the Pac12 title this season. Yes, you can question a few late game decisions and even assess his choices resulted in a few losses. But coaching and managing a baseball team is about using everything you know and the situation you are in to determine the best choice in batter, pitcher, pitches, steals, hit-and-run, defensive substitutions, etc. Sometimes your choices are among two low risk options - and sometimes you choose a high risk option and fail. Coach Mitch is revered as a Beaver baseball player for his role in bringing a national championship to OSU. I think he deserves support, not knee jerk hyperbolic reaction. I am not a Beaver fan, but I certainly cannot imagine suggesting firing Coach Canham now. Like I said, across all platforms of social media, rival fans, and opponent fans are laughing at the beavers baseball program right now. I can't believe some of the crap that gets posted on this site. Doomsayers will always walk among us. MC was successfully at the minor league level and that is why he was hired. He chose us over professional baseball. That says a lot about him to me.

Besides the grammar being horrific, the most important thing I took out of the original post is that I’m thankful I’m not on any social media.
I do believe the team is toast this year however, and am not sold on Canham. I hope he is receiving behind the scenes tutoring from the puppet master.

Making the regionals and world series mostly every year in baseball and winning THREE World Series in baseball does in fact make a college baseball team, ELITE. Also I’m no pond bird football fan. I’m super passionate die hard beavs fan that doesn’t stand for mediocrity losing bulls%#t in baseball, basketball or football. I expect the beavs to be winners in all three sports!! No excuses for losing for a elite baseball program such as ours! |

I am not giving up on Mitch. First of all he has coached and managed (successfully) in the Minors and the players on those teams are the same age (or close to it) as our current players. Mitch bleeds orange and has the support of Pat Casey. We have lost a lot of close games this year and blown late leads, but Mitch is an intelligent and dedicated person and will learn from his mistakes. This team does not have the talent (duh!) as recent previous teams and have been severely affected by injuries. Rarely are managers fired after one year and that is all that Mitch has managed.
Recruiting and learning will be crucial. I think he has an advantage in recruiting to some potential players because of his age. Now if he had Adley, Nick and company with his current record.......!
