Greta and Talia were both invited to and will be participating in the USA U19 trials this month in Denver, Colorado. The trials consist of mostly 2020 and 2021 players. Cori Close (UCLA) will serve as the head coach and Joni Taylor (Georgia) and Aaron Johnston (South Dakota State) will serve as the assistant coaches. 12 of the approximately 30 athletes who participate in the trials will make the team. The tournament will feature teams from 16 nations and is scheduled to be held Aug. 7-15 in Debrecen, Hungary. www.usab.com/news-events/news/2021/04/2021-wu19-draw.aspxwww.usab.com/news-events/news/2021/05/2021-wu19-coaches.aspx

Good info, thanks, found this while reading it all, forgot he did this:
OSU head coach Scott Rueck helped the USA to a 4-1 record and the silver medal as a USA assistant coach at the 2015 USA Pan American Games.

After three days of COVID-19 testing and isolation, trials for Greta and Talia will officially begin today. The last day of trials is May 17 and I’d assume that’s when the team is selected.

I know it's not what it is all about, but I'd like to see a one on one contest during these trials.

So what are the jersey numbers for Talia and Greta? Talia looks like she is 8_, eighty something. Greta is number 65 right? Twelve of 27 invitees will be selected this weekend to be on the team. Hope both OSU freshmen make the squad!!
Aside: some of the posters on that twitter account are brain dead. Rather than tipping my hat, I'll let others decide.

I'll let someone else pick the other six.

Paopao must be rated ready to go if she is participating in such an intense competition.
However, it was only 45 days ago, or so, that she was ruled not healthy enough to even take the floor. She has a history of leg problems. Obviously she is getting good medical advise, but if she was my daughter I'd tell her to take some time off. Next season she will still be only a Frosh.
The entire U-19 thing is preposterously over-rated. It brings no tangible benefit to the players (they're all headed for, or already in, major programs). They still have their u. careers to play. They've been playing against America's best since they were 16. What's the gain?
Look at that list of 25 names. I'd bet the price of season ticket that come November at a least 3 of them will have leg injuries.... GO BEAVS!!!
