Suppose this means no fans at Goss either. I have words for OHA and Kate but I won't say them.

You know the governor could encourage vaccinations by allowing those that have been to attend. Kind of like you have two brothers one decides to screw off and gets grounded but rather than punishing the one mom and dad decide that all three need to be grounded.

You can go to Costco or home depot or fred meyers and walk literally within inches of others but heaven forbid you find a seat at reser and sit 10 seats from the closest person.

I agree on the Vaccination cards for admittance ! There has to be a carrot and a stick . Otherwise - you may NEVER get to a point of herd immunity ! You allow the screw offs to screw it up for everyone else ! Make them pay ! Start now !

Fu%% these guys. I've been a good little Covid soldier but enough is enough. We've averaged ONE death per month in Benton County. I'm fully vaccinated. I just went to WinCo and was in more danger than I'd be outside at Reser Stadium.

You can go to Costco or home depot or fred meyers and walk literally within inches of others but heaven forbid you find a seat at reser and sit 10 seats from the closest person. As an OHA employee, still working on covid response more than a year later, the inequity in our response is the most maddening thing. We aren't asking Home Depot to limit occupancy any more. We aren't asking Costco or any other stories to limit entry. You drive to a Home Depot on Saturday right now it is an outright f%#*ing zoo. Placing the burden on small businesses and schools, while large corporations skirt the rules is problematic. and worse, it is obvious to even the most inattentive observer. If we REALLY do have a problem with community spread again, it means we control the WHOLE community, not just the easy ones. The reason is simple on this one. OSU has to listen to the Governor. Small business restaurants aren't a significant political block, and fast food restaurant figured out drive through only is high profit margins because they can run on skeleton crews. (notice how like zero of the opened up fully when they could of?) But Home Depot and it's $110 billion in annual sales can cause problems in Oregon if it wanted to spend it's money that way... Same with Costco and Fred Meyers or most any other major chain. The inequity is galling. If we have a problem, fine. but make it ALL of our problem, not just a few select places and settings. (FWIW, we do have a problem, we have 3x the average cases of LA county, with less than half the population. Oregon is the fastest growing state in the nation)

Presumably shopping at Costco/Home Depot/Fred Meyer is for essentials. It seems like a baseball game or spring game should be allowed with moderations. Limited attendance, spaced seating, masks, and other social distancing precautions. Doesn't seem like it's impossible. It's outdoors for Pete's sake. Looks like some draconian measures in Benton County.

Looks like some draconian measures in Benton County. It's a totally apt comparison. Covid doesn't care if you're shopping for "essentials" or at a baseball game. And the science says you are in much, much less danger of being infected if you are outside and distanced than if you are inside, and even much less at risk at risk if you are vaccinated. I'm fully vaccinated. I wear a mask in crowds, or when indoors. I pose no threat to anyone. Benton County has no Covid hospital cases, and has the highest percentage of vaccinated people in the entire state. I (and others of similar circumstances) should be able to go into a restaurant, a stadium, or anywhere the ##ck I want. I'm a lifelong Democrat and will die before I ever vote for a Republican. But like I said, $$ck governor Brown and $$ck the OHA. They are both out of touch with reality. And OSU better follow Washington and California and mandate its students be fully vaccinated if they expect to return to school next fall.

So spectating a baseball game is as essential for you as getting groceries. Duly noted.
