Cut it anyway you want to, many of MC's coaching decisions are inconsistent and open to question. More than ever, I don't feel he was ready to coach college ball. Beaver baseball should never have been, and needn't have been, an on-the-job training hire.

Anyone after PC would have had the same questions. Give him a chance.

Anyone after PC would have had the same questions. Give him a chance. He has coached one fewer game than PB at this point. I think that MC has had a fair shake. I was not on the PB bandwagon, but I am beginning to think that I completely misjudged PB, because I like what MC is doing even less. Melton getting hurt does hurt, but MC appeared to have undervalued Melton from the get-go. I do not know how we aren't already at 30 wins. Wildly inconsistent, a heavy hand with pitchers and cannot seem to calm anyone down and keep the guys out of their own heads. Pitchers, especially, are like football kickers. You have to be able to keep 'em out of their own heads every once in awhile, or they will implode. Evaluate the players and trust your evaluation. Don't keep switching to what you perceive is the hot hand. You can't keep changing the team every single game and then wonder why the team isn't gelling. Most of the players have played better than the coaching thus far. Mitchy Slick has time to make me eat crow, but I am rapidly losing faith that hiring Mitchy Slick was the correct call.

You are wildly overestimating the talent on this team. It's amazing we're this far over .500 as it is. As far as "undervaluing" Melton, he had opportunities and hit less than .100 last year. This season he has started almost every game he's been healthy for since the second week. Like Pat always said, the players determine the lineup. Melton showed he didn't merit playing time last year. This year he has.
