Mitch was the third base coach on that fly ball. This is on him!! Casey was doing exactly what he should have, going to third base, because, G should have gone home. This whole game is on Mitch!!š” Pulling a kid, who is mowing them down, for our supposed, All-American closer, who has not performed well all season. Shave off that beard, and be Mully again. This, and 5-6 other losses are on Mitch. I think he is over his head. So many missed opportunities, just unreal coaching decisions. Spare me the, he knows baseball, because he played. He is making little league mistakes. I canāt believe, Pat endorsed this guy. Yes, Iām upset, our hard earned dollars, that we donate to the program, we expect better. Itās just a game, played by kids, but dog gone it, coaches should be better than that. Nice try. Mitch clearly signaled to hold. Itās Caseyās job to monitor whatās going on at the base ahead of him. Casey made an assumption and he got caught. Mully was absolutely Mully in the 8th. And his beard looks fantastic. Mitch canāt play the game for the boys. Keep the responsibility where it should beā¦on UCLA for a helluva come back win. Yes canham held him up so yes Casey should have saw that. But on the other hand 90 out of 100 times or more the coach is sending the runner.

Casey overcommitted and couldnāt recover.

I prefer aggressive play. Forrester should have gone home. Part of the problem with this team especially on the offensive side of the ball is waiting/hoping for something to happen rather than making something happen.

You guys? Didn't realize the players or coaches were reading this board during the game. If thatās your takeaway, then you misunderstood my post. Oh well. Better luck next time.

I prefer aggressive play. Forrester should have gone home. Iāll bite. We canāt know if Forrester wouldāve been thrown out at the plate or not because itās entirely hypothetical. But letās play with the idea that he did run. Would the Bruins have thrown to the plate? I donāt think so. I think they would have thrown to third to get Casey. Lots of times the Beavs will give up the run in such a situation in order to get the easier out. Canham, Iām sure, had a million different scenarios going through his head. He tried to avoid the double play by holding the runners. Having the bases juiced for another two outs would have been a ton of pressure for UCLA to deal with. Giving up the double play by sloppy, pseudo-aggressive base-running was stupid. Baseball is a mental game, not just hit the ball and score a run. The threat to score is important. The base runners are important. Keep the other team under pressure and wait for them to crack. Sorta like what UCLA did to us after that miscue.

So what were your thoughts on the failed hit and run in the 7th that resulted in Boyd getting thrown out? Seems like that play was in the āaggressive/making something happenā category that you assert the team lacks.

Simple and straight to the point. Beavs either need to bounce back or pack their bags and return to Corvo with their tales between their legs. Iām expecting a much better performance tonight. We can score off their pitching. We can do this.
