Another hard-fought game. Beavers have some work to do. We left too many men on third base, for one. But hats off to a very good Anteaters team.

I am glad to see these guys in the rear view mirror. Not many Beaver teams in recent years give up a 5 run lead. Who are those guys? We were just ants to them. Good never say never team.

Good three game series. They do the little things better.,Too many guys left on base. Too many strikeouts and not advancing runners. Kudos to them.

UCI: Best team I've ever seen at fouling off pitches with 2 strikes. And when they didn't (foul-off 3rd strike), but instead swung and missed, Beavs let' em reach First Base anyhow/somehow. Ant-Eaters are one tough team! |

We had plenty of hits, just lacked the timely ones. But squandering that 5 run lead just stings. Man I hate baseball. Can’t wait til Tuesday!

Beavs got a taste of what post season tournament ball is like with this series.
Not the best results but hopefully they will grow from the experience.
I liked how the bullpen quit issuing walks and HBP's for the most part.
Melton would have been a factor had he been able to play but guys have to step up when they get the chance.

That's a little league mistake, hasn't he watched their outfielders run down so much stuff. I've got to disagree. It appears on the replay that Forrester went halfway and was watching the ball and it appeared to me that the 1st base coach was yelling, "GO". If this is true, it caused the game. Should have won 7-6 if Forrester stayed at 1b. It’s ON 1b coach! Bonehead decision! |

I wonder how much Mitch will take from this series, besides player evaluation ? Will he add small ball to his inventory? Is small ball something we want to add? Pitching changes for matchups vs riding the hot pitcher.
College ball is different from MiLB, games are played for championships, not with an eye to future development for use in the Show.
Having said that, I like MC and his staff. I think we will be doing well for a while.

I don’t put that all on Barney. Runner has to read that correctly. I also have no idea how anyone could hear him say “go” from that video feed. Blaming our 1B coach for a loss on one play in the 7th inning is ridiculous. If Forrester doesn’t get doubled up on the play, Froemke might not even come in to PH, let alone hit a HR. |
