The pitch was about six inches inside. The majors self-regulate that stuff. We hit enough guys without hitting another guy to “send a message” You don't have to hit anyone. And college teams don't play each other 18 times a year so "sending a message" is tougher. The rule needs to be changed that a batter must make a reasonable effort to avoid the ball. Standing stock still on a 75-mph curveball and simply turning your upper body is not a reasonable effort.
