He'll fit right in with current transfer culture. Mike played for 3 different schools in his career. Did he play for Maryland too? Lolo Scott is going to have to hire a woman and a African American now Scott should hire exactly who he wants to hire, regardless of any woke standards. If that turns out to be a woman, an African American, someone who is not Christian, someone who is not a capitalist, someone who was absent from school the whole time they were teaching pronouns, or someone who checks 3 or 4 of those boxes, that's fine. If the new hire doesn't check any of those boxes, that's fine too. The idea is to hire the best assistant coach who may or may not be a woman, not a woman who may or may not be the best assistant coach.

I am sure that Scott Rueck has already been contacted and has 'vetted' what he needs for his system and his team. Were there specific shortcomings from previous assistants that he wants to emphasize ? He spoke about new ideas and that he would be open to those kinds of thought processes, so, that may well be where he is focused. In other words - the 'most bang for the buck'. You look at how Stanford was constructed and you can already see similarities with the systems. The big issue for us - is we do not have a Cameron Brink type of Center, nor do we have the speedy ' do it all ' kind of guard that can wreak havoc on a defense. Not that I have seen so far. Seems we go more for the girls that can play within a team concept and that are 'crafty' scorers , rather than athletic scorers. I don't have a preference - just that we have the personnel to execute on both offense and defense ! Be most interested to see how Scott, et al, comes to their decisions ! Go Beavers !

Mike Moser with basically no coaching experience and Jackie Nared Hairston with 3 years. Could be interesting!

I'm very confident Scott will make wise choices. Could care less who other schools chose for their assistants. They may not be the right fit for osu.

Katie came on board and had Chatterton and Holsinger along side her, both who already had years of experience. Jodie Berry of uo does have years of experience. Nared Hairston was their video person 3 years ago, has 3 years experience since then. Moser has no experience. I still say it could be interesting.

Well one thing for sure. They moved fast.,I think both people of color will pay rich dividends for them. Meanwhile we slam them and no nothing else at this point. We will eventually hire two people. When that happens we can intelligently debate the hires. Until than well.

I thought it was dumb at the time for Scott to sniff at one year St Marys assistant Scott douche bag Campbell but he got lucky. Look for Scott to steal a well seasoned assistant from another Pac-12 school or a SEC assistant. Scott is just spending the extra time to land a big, big name in the assistant coaching circles and is finalizing all the details. You will see just how big he goes.

I assume you mean Mark Campbell not Scott. I'm not sure how lucky that ended up being. Campbell was not shy about taking credit for OSU's turn around. He was also not shy about his feelings of Scott and his coaching. These were things I personally heard him say, not third person or rumors. FWIW, he would also claim full credit for uo recruiting. It would not surprise if his contract wouldn't be renewed, Graves knew that if he was gone so would be si. She is gone and as soon as possible so is he.

You got it , LOL, that is why I called him Scott Campbell, could have called him Kelly Campbell too. After all he did it all where ever he went , didn't he?

Do you really believe he will hire a "big, big name in assistant coaching circles"? I have no idea who SR will hire, except they will be a coach who believes in relationship building. My guess would be that they are both women and that one of them will have decent experience and that the other may be fairly new in coaching. I'll be surprised if he hires a 'big name', but we all probably have a different interpretation of who a big name is. Whoever he hires, I'm fairly sure they will relate well with the players.

I’ve noticed that recently Jonas has been liking tweets of Molly Miller’s, who is the head coach of the GCU women’s basketball program. I saw somewhere online that she (at one point) had the best active winning percentage in the country among male and female coaches.
Could the beavs be after her for an assistant coaching position? There’s nothing I’ve seen to indicate that she could be lured away from GCU. She seems happy and scored that head coaching job at the start of 2020. Just some food for thought!
