Pretty sure Ober dropped it on the transfer to his throwing hand. But if I were a Zag fan, I would've been pissed if the umps had ruled that a catch. I had that call as an ump many moons ago. Kid's at short, caught the ball as he was falling backwards. Was pulling the ball out of his glove when he hit the ground and he let go of d the ball. I called it an out because I was looking right at it, thought the coach from the "aggrieved" team was going to burst a vein. Fortunately the home plate ump saw it just as I did. |

That was a foul ball. No way that play was made in fair territory. Replay just showed that was a fair ball. Casey touched while still between the foul lines. It doesn't matter where Casey was. It matters where the ball was. |
