Lol, Idk about that. I wouldn't be surprised if her family hasn't talked to Neighbors already though. More likely Neighbors talked to the family.

Freaking out may not be the correct wording, but this loss is huge. That doesn't mean it can't be overcome, but it won't be easy. SR started recruiting Sasha early because he identified her as the type of player he wanted with the talent he wants. There could be other things behind the scene, but those who follow Sasha closely know how close she is with her Dad, and that he is mentioned often by her. My guess is missing family is the biggest reason for her leaving. As far as overcoming her loss to this team though, it won't be easy to find that talent and still have 4 years of eligibility remaining. The Beavs may bring in a top transfer that has a year, or two, or three, but the chances of them having Sasha's talent and potential, and of them being around 4 years is slim. It will probably take landing a transfer now, and perhaps a second transfer to land the same talent or....... perhaps Greta will be so good, we will be asking "Sasha who?".
Until we know whether or not Aleah is returning, it's hard to determine just what the Beavers need. I will say, this makes it much more likely the Beavs pursue Lily Hansford (or someone else) from the 2022 class.

I totally saw it coming; ask my wife, the Queen, 541.bla.blah, about my December Goforth lamentations. Her long face, sometimes dejected body language, a sadness in aspect, rare joy.
She was Arkansas bound months ago my transferometer told me.
Loved her game, though. We'll mostly miss the spider defensive speed she brought to every possession, and a penetrating offensive attack a year from blossoming. Sweet, arching three.
I will watch some Razorback WBB next year, if that's her landing place, just as I watched some Slocum ball this year.

I, too, will not at all be surprised to see her at Arkansas. Recruited by Destiny? My guess is Neighbors got in her ear....I put nothing past him. Who knows.

My guess is Neighbors got in her ear....I put nothing past him. Who knows. Of course, it can't possibly be a decision she made based on her own intersts; surely she was manipulated. You seriously believe that?

Do you think Neighbors would never violate an NCAA rule?

Even with only one abbreviated season she accomplished more at OSU than Sasha Cuic or Sasha Petrovic.

This is a big loss to the program, as others have noted. No other way to spin that. One doesn’t want to see McDonald AA 5* , starter, and all-Pac 12 freshman player leave the program for any reason. I guess one has to take her reasons for leaving at face value. Maybe she thought playing far from home wouldn’t be a big deal, and it turned out, for her, it was. Unfortunate, because I think the college experience of the next 12 months is going to be far different than what we experienced the last year. This was a year to just power through and get in the rear view mirror, for everybody. Sort of related but puts her decision in perspective. We live in Corvallis. My daughter and her boyfriend visited last week, they went out and ran into some of the wrestling team. Boyfriend was an ex wrestler and starts BS'ing with the OSU wrestlers. They said this last season was a miserable experience with isolation, nobody on campus, long days, constant testing, etc. Couldn't wait for the season to be over with. I would imagine it would have been just as hard on the WBB team.

Have been trying to put myself in her shoes, and besides the obvious COVID and school issues, it seems a confluence of many factors which led to her final decision to leave ! However , one thing not ‘mentioned ‘, that may have tipped her over the edge, was the arrival of TVO and all of the media hype over her ‘game’. I believe that a lot of that may have been over the top - especially given that SASHA was also playing at an extremely high level and deserved to be mentioned in the same breath ! Not at all a situation where SG felt like she was not capable of staying on top of things, but rather having to endure all of the TVO adulation while her game, in her style - was equal - if not better- in some games ! So, not the only reason - but feeling under appreciated was a piece . JMO !
