I'm reminded that when Cayden Grenier got here he couldn't hit the curve ball and Casey told him he better learn how to bunt? Is that right? Maybe our players need to become good bunters.

Able is struggling again. He is really not the same pitcher. He still gets a lot of strikeouts but he also lets a lot of hitters reach base. At some point the coaches are going to have to rethink him as the Friday starter. Again tonight he is chased in the 5th. He really can only do about 4 innings. Most of the damage is in the 5th. How can anybody be “the same pitcher” as the guy who heroically finished game 2 and dominated game 3 of the college World Series? He doesn’t have the same team behind him. I think it’s a lot easier batting when you’ve got a lead on a frightfully cold hitting team. If I were a Wazzu player, I would be aggressive at the plate. Why not? The game has a lot of nuance. Okay. I was more talking about his need for the surgeries affecting his pitching consistency. I think you are saying his issues are mental. I understand the pitching like kicking is a lot of a mental game. I also understand that if we move him back in the weekend that will not help him. I guess like you I should just trust the coaching staff but then again they are also in the mode of having to prove themselves. Perhaps this analysis is too early and I should wait until mid-April? |

Grenier never was a very good hitter, but it didn't matter cuz he was surrounded by great hitters... That said, Grenier might be the best hitter on this team.... |

Man, where were you the past few years where he’d mess the call up so badly that you had no clue what really happened without checking the Stats page? This year, his gaffes have been pretty limited. |
