Updated the first post on this thread to reflect prospects that have visited.
So far I have Joyce Edwards, Mikayla Blakes, Delaney Gibb, Katie Fiso, Britt Prince, and Avery Howell as having already taken unofficial visits to OSU.

beaverwbb fan - - you stay on top of this far more than most of us....
So, tell me who are your favourites in this group? And, maybe an educated guess from you on who the Beavs seem to have the best chances of landing..... Of course, I know it involves bit of guess work....But nowadays, what doesn't!!๐ GO BEAVS!!

And, maybe an educated guess from you on who the Beavs seem to have the best chances of landing..... Of course, I know it involves bit of guess work....But nowadays, what doesn't!! ๐GO BEAVS!! I've thought for the past year or so that 2024 will be a really important class for OSU. I think that 2024 will probably be a three or four player class. Ideally we get a point/combo-guard, a wing, a forward, and a post. I really like any of Prince, Gibb, Blakes, and Fiso for the point/combo-guard slot. All of have visited OSU. Scott seems to really like Blakes. She's really good in the open floor and in transition. I'm not sure OSU has had an athlete as explosive as Blakes in a long time. She appears to be high academic and it may be difficult to get her to Corvallis all the way from the east coast. I haven't seen a lot of Prince. It's a little difficult to gauge her interest in OSU, but she looks to be a long, smooth guard who can play anywhere on the perimeter. I've seen quite a bit of Fiso playing for Tree of Hope. Doesn't appear to be a great three point shooter, but she excels in all other areas, and has a smooth pull-up jumper and is a crafty finisher. She's got good length and quickness and is possibly the purest PG of the bunch. I believe she's played with Slocum and Pivec in some open runs. Always a plus that she's a PNW kid. With recent transfer trends, I'd prefer a PNW kid probably. I saw Gibb a good bit last summer with NWBA and the Canadian youth national team. She's a pure scorer at all three levels. Quick and crafty. Seems to be a little inconsistent and streaky, but she's dangerous when she's on. She's LDS and played AAU with Amari Whiting, so I suspect BYU is a major contender. Hunter looked really good running the point guard for Cal Stars this summer. Any of these guards would pair nicely with her in the backcourt. Shuler seems to be a little bit more of a question mark in regards to potential Pac-12 impact, but I think she'll be able to be an impact player at both guard spots for OSU at some point.

I just don't see the Beavs having much of a shot with her. Hope I'm wrong. I do feel good about Donovyn's ability to be the Beavs point guard once she gets a bit of college experience.

Ava Heiden committed to Iowa:
Not sure if there was any connection, but it has been pretty clear they were her favorite team for quite some time. Unfortunate, as I really liked her game.

It will be interesting to see how 2024 recruiting goes. Judging from 2023, and this summer's portal, it almost seems the Beavs recruiting has lost a little of it's magic. Don't get me wrong, I'm high on both Donovyn and Kennedie, but unless they land Soltau, or another decent big, the 2023 class is missing some size. Normally I would say 2024 is a very important class, but the transfer portal has changed that a bit as teams can land transfers that may be just as important as recruits.
I'm a little bummed that Heiden made her choice this soon, but there are plenty of great players still available for the 2024 class. I hope the Beavs land a couple difference makers.

I think some of the unevenness of recruiting classes has led to some of the issues on the court (lack of experience at certain positions, lack of depth at certain positions, players having to play out of positions). Of course that can be eased with the transfer portal, especially now more than ever, but it's better not to rely on that. Getting a big in 2023 would help keep us on a better trajectory, but if not we definitely need one or two in 2024. With Fournier and Heiden of the table, hopefully some new targets will emerge.

Just noticed on her twitter page that Annika Soltau from Germany who was a 2023 target for many schools now list herself as 2024. Haven't checked out the details/reasoning, but found it interesting that she has now listed herself as class of 2024. Beavs have been following her for a long time, and many top programs are showing interest. Although her and Martha appear to know each other, it doesn't seem like they are close friends. Annika is a good player with size. Something the Beavs need sooner rather than later.
