We’re .500....pop the champagne! Predicting they would finish 6th in conference is a troll? They’re right on track for that.

They’re right on track for that. Are you a mind reader or something? I don't think you're a troll, just the opposite of a fair weather fan. You mostly post when the team is doing poorly. I will also admit you typically have very good insight, and that insight would also be welcomed when the team is playing well, not just losing to Washington State and getting destroyed by Oregon. Who said we're celebrating being .500? In case you missed the memo, we're celebrating defeating the eighth-ranked team in the country.

They are doing better lately because of the addition of TVO and Aleah is playing better than she ever has. I just said they should be much better next year and that there would be growing pains with the loss of Pivec & Destiny. Don’t think that is trolling.

Speaking of improvements over the season. Taylor Jones has really taken her rebounding up a notch these last few games. She’s got 39 boards in her last 3 games, I don’t remember the last time an Oregon Stare player had double digit rebounds in 3 strait games.

Kennedy Brown came close last season before the injury, but didn’t quite pull it off. Quite a big feat for Taylor and it’s coming at the right time.

Mikayla and Taylor both recorded three-straight double digit rebounding games last year. Taylor is also now leading the league in rebounds per game. The two leys today were rebounding and protecting the ball, and we handled both for the most part. I thought there was a clear emphasis on boxing out and making sure our guards were crashing on the defensive end, which was encouraging to see.

The win today was our first against a ranked conference opponent since Arizona State rolled the ball out of bounds after Maddie tied the game and then Mik beat them on the inbounds pass - if not the most fun I've had at a basketball game, awfully damn close. That was just over a year ago.
One win does not put all the swagger back in your step, but it sure is a nice start. Since that win against ASU, we had lost to Arizona (OT0, UCLA (OT), and Stanford last year, then Oregon, Arizona, and Stanford this year.
The difference is clearly the addition of Talia. You have all heard me say that I think Syd is the best of the Rueck era because she just had a way of making the key plays which stuck a dagger in the opponent. Talia strikes me as definitely having the potential to do the same, as evidenced by her calmly making the 3 when the game was tied at 57. I find myself starting to want to see the ball in her hands at crunch time and believing she'll get it done.

I was thinking when I read your comment that we actually have 2 trolls and that they've been very quiet lately.....I wonder if he is referring to me since I've been quiet lately and also have made some critical comments about our post players when they put the ball on the floor inside the key or down low close to the basket.....well I've been quiet these last 2 weekends because I've been among the unlucky ones that is still without my comcast TV service due to ice storm damage in my area....so I haven't seen any of the recent games so I really can't comment on what I haven't seen. I did make one comment in the USC thread about Jelena dribbling in the key just from the clip someone posted of it. I've only made 39 comments in 2 years as a member and more positive ones than negative so I wouldn't call that being a troll.....I simply comment on things as I see them....no sugar-coating from me.....I was one of the 1st to comment on how well Aleah was playing and leading the team last month.....those of you that have read my comments know my pet peeve about post players putting the ball on the floor when inside the key or down low close to the basket.....that comes from being a post player myself in High-School....my coach was a real stickler about not doing that and I learned real fast early in my playing career not to do that cause whenever I did practice was stopped and I had to run a line sprint....and if I made 2 dribbles in the lane I would have to do 2 line sprints!.....and those of you that have played basketball in Hi-School and college most likely know what a line sprint is and that they are killers and the most hated part of basketball conditioning. That being said I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing next weekends Uck game and seeing something positive to comment on!

No, I wasn’t talking about you. I was referring to the self described 6’4” guy who has “played and coached”. And of course that enables him offer his insight with such a critical eye. I always look forward to his stellar analysis.

Jimbob I've disagreed with you on a few of the points, especially with the video of Jelena but I've never considered you a troll at all. I think it's actually been a good discussion and enjoy the points being made. Keep it up!. On another note, Beavs up to 34 in the NET, a couple more wins would really do the team well. The lack of leadership from the conference in getting these make-ups scheduled has been terrible, but probably not surprising.

Another point I wanted to make, I thought she got a raw whistle yesterday, but Ellie Mack has really started to play well. It's almost like a light has clicked on for her saying, "wow, I really can play at this level". It also helps that she has been getting a far larger share of her minutes at the 4. She was noticeably better than Taya this weekend, and I would not have taken that bet when the season started.
Taya almost looks like a player who has the yips. She had a great drive yesterday into a left handed layup, but she ended up completely overshooting the rim. Tough to shoot a layup that wouldn't have even reset the shot clock. Physically she doesn't look or move like she's struggling, but mentally she just seems off.
