Massive illegal screen, no call. These refs are horrible. UCLA goes up 52-51 at the end of Q3. I have a bad feeling they are gonna run away. They aren't even playing very well but have seized momentum. Oh ye of little faith. I'm very happy to be wrong. Q4 very much swung back in favor of the Beavs. Good gut check win.

Our defense was outstanding. Our height really impacted UCLA. They had a difficult time shooting over our tall perimeter defenders. Sasha was outstanding today on defense. She either kept Osborne from shooting, or, made it a very tough shot for Osborne today.
Aleah was without question, the floor leader today. She was what you expect from a leader: organized the team, clutch many times today. 9 assists--WOW! 20 points--WOW!
Taylor Jones was also a force on defense, and, on offense. If she can make a few more free throws, this kid is unstoppable.
I really like how Ellie Mack is coming along. She is a glue player. Seems to do everything well (at the moment).
Probably Taya's worst game as a Beav. I don't expect that will continue. She'll do better next game.
What can you say about TvO, except, thank you for joining the squad early. Has made a world of difference for our backcourt.
Great weekend, and this should get us into the tournament, as long as we don't screw up badly in the PAC-12 Tournament.
GO BEAVS!

Was a good effort. Taylor Joned stepped up. The Freshman playing point and the senior getting two or three key Layups. Good team play and rebounding.

Jones had 11 rebounds, Goodman 7, TvO 6.
Outrebounded the Bruins 45-39, although they did give up 17 O boards. Didn't end up costing them the game as UCLA shot so poorly (28%).

IF we make the NCAA tourney this is a team NOBODY is gonna want to play. Particularly since we'd be about a 9 or 10 seed. Don't think there's going to be a 7 or 8 seed that could beat us right now.

To me, almost as much as the win itself was to watch the team play like a good, well coached OSU team. The defense looked excellent most of the time, they handled the press effectively, even if not very smoothly. Taylor Jones' inside basket on the after-timeout-play in the final 2 minutes was a dagger...Talia's 3 from the frickken o-zone was unbelievable. Jones was more physically aggressive than I've seen from her in a long time, and Mitrovic was a bear on the boards....
I also take considerable pleasure in seeing Coach Rueck beat a Cori Close team. I am so happy for Rueck, his staff and this team.... GO BEAVS!!

Kudos to the Beavs and the OSU coaching staff. They stayed in front of Osborne defensively and made her have to try to beat them by shooting over them. Osborne was off today and looked frustrated by the Beaver team defense. Goforth tipped at least two of Osborne's jump shots from distance.
Goodman came up huge in a huge game today. Her efficiency as a shooter (especially from distance) was to be expected, but her ability to go by UCLA defenders who pressured her too tightly today resulted in numerous layins. Check out Goodman's overall stats through 14 games this season and try to identify another point guard (not named Bueckers) in the country at a D1 school who is having a more efficient season when shooting, scoring, and assists/turnovers are collectively factored in. She will be on the 15-member All-PAC-12 team and should also garner some honorable mention All-American honors with a quality finish to this season. Goodman has outplayed Osborne overall so far this season. Is there a guard in the PAC-12 who is having a better statistical season than Goodman? We may not like the over dribbling that we see so often from Goodman as the shot clock winds down. However, she is clearly doing what Rueck is asking her to do and it has worked well over the past six conference games.
The Bruins had no answer for Taylor Jones today. Jones was 7/9 from the field, finishing well in the paint from quality passes from the guards.
Beat the Ducks and the team's path to the NCAA tourney becomes very clear.

0 turnovers in the 4th quarter...this team is really coming together. No one would want to play this osu team in the tournament...we are certainly peaking.

I literally logged back on to post about Goodman playing better than any other PAC-12 guard this year. No question, Aleah has had an all everything year thus far. I sure hope she wants to play another year---PLEASE!

Tie game. Top 10 opponent. On the road. 4Q home stretch.
No place for an 18 year old (17?) freshman in her 7th college game, right?
Not this freshman.

Getting ready for a little payback next Sunday. It's time to start quoting from my favorite movies. I'll choose Kurt Russell from TOMBSTONE. "You tell 'em I'm comin'.....and hell's comin' with me!"
