Cue the critics saying it should have gone to the homeless, the English department, or to some other non-athletic entity. Here's a hint to those criticizing the $50 million donation, the $10 million donation, or any other donation to this project: 1. Be successful enough to have $50 million to donate. 2. Donate that $50 million to the entity of your choice. 3. Sit back, put your feet up, and then enjoy the criticism from others for donating your money to the cause of your choice.

To be fair, it should go to charity to say help feed children. The vast majority of spending in Big Five Conferences should go to charity. Football spending is wildly out-of-control. There needs to be a way to rein it all in. But Oregon State must spend to try and stay in the conversation. Otherwise, the University as a whole suffers.

From what I recall, Cook's had a rough start to life, and football opened a door from him that likely has had a massive ripple effect on those he was around (as large as he's chose to make). If he was the source, any objection to such a donation would seem pretty myopic, in that he could simply want to support others having the same opportunity he had. And maybe you could argue that the opportunity would exist without the donation, which is probably true - but facilities and access to them for those that utilize them to their fullest matter. The arms race is indeed ridiculous, but fortunately the facility in question has a bigger vision than just football.

Jordan Poyer (thru 2022) $36.5M Matt Moore $27.5M Nobody mentioned Hekker who's up to around $20M. Probably not him, since he and his wife just donated to the new Gymnastics training facility.

no one has brought up our greatest WR ever; Robb Thomas either Matchbox Twenty money. My son's band is managed by M20/RT manager, who gave my son the one off RT's chip tooth smile jacket, who then gave it to my wife since she would leave me for RT. So my plan is to steal it, have Robb Thomas wear it at a Beaver auction, and donate the $20 I get for it to the Reser Expansion fund
