Kind of funny reading about TVO being too slow and not a pg and overrated from her summer games. Now we have this thread on the board. No disrespect to the original poster not saying you were a nay sayer just laughing at the polarity swings as fans.

Court awareness - vision and good decision making is often underrated in the impact it has on a team. To often coaches standard for Pg are quick and fast athletes. Nothing wrong with that type provided they also possess other atributes. I for one have always preferred a point guard with those qualities that do not often show up in the stats. She appears to be the missing piece that was essential for this team to thrive. As she plays more games we might see some of the passing mentality rub off on other team members.I have seen this happen on other teams when a player like her show up.

No one ever accused Ionescu of being the fastest PG in the world, but she's decent.

I understand everyone is excited by TVO's game yesterday, but let's not expect too much from her. She's, what? 17 years old? She's going to have an ugly game here and there. Let's not put too much pressure on her to be The Messiah.

Any other tidbits for Coach Chatterton's appearance on the show? Talked about the rebounding issue. Osu has always been very good at rebounding. I am paraphrasing, but the team has to realize it's a 5 person job to rebound. Going through some poor rebounding games,Chatterton is hoping the team will step up after going through this. He said it's not like the team doesn't work on rebounding. Loved the way Goodman stepped up last week-end. Having Talia at point opens up the game for some of our shooters to just spot up and hit the three. That's all I can remember. Talia does a great job at practice too paying attention and learning. I can't help but think that at least some of the returning players this year might have had a less than totally aggressive approach to rebounding, and particularly to boxing out, cause good old Mik was always there to clear the boards. Last year we were 6th in the nation in rebounding margin. This year's team wouldn't be in the top 100. Wat to early to predict where Talia winds up on the all time list. Let's see her against a Stanford before even thinking of anointing her. Best all time? I wasn't around for Carol Mencken, but, based on team success, what she meant to building the program, and the numerous times I watched her stick a dagger in an opponent, I'd go with Syd.

Let's not put too much pressure on her to be The Messiah. Very true. TVO's early returns are promising and widely welcomed by Beaver Nation, given the Beavs were mired in a conference losing streak of five games that includes a home loss to Utah. TVO will face much higher level PAC-12 competition following the two road games this coming weekend against the two Mountain schools. She will be tested by PAC-12 athletes that will be both quicker and stronger than she currently is. I'm looking forward to seeing how the youngster handles the upcoming challenges and adversity that she will undoubtedly face this season. TVO has quickly added some intrigue to a season that was trending downward for the Beavs prior to her arrival.

If you like TVO, you're going to also really like Greta Kampschroeder. The past two recruiting classes and the 2022 class are filled with extremely talented players who are used to competing at the highest levels. These women are fearless. Tough year but the future is bright!

Hey, TVO is off to a nice start, but what is Sasha Goforth? Chopped liver?

Hey, TVO is off to a nice start, but what is Sasha Goforth? Chopped liver? Exactly what I’ve been thinking! I believe she has just as good of a chance to be as decorated, if not more decorated than Talia by the time their college careers are finished.

Lots of great comments about TVO and program in general. My take is that TVO is, though very young, the key piece missing from this team. Aleah isn't a point guard. She is a natural 2. Great shooter but spends most of the time dribbling. With TVO, she when in with her, the opportunity to get free and spot up. She is terrible about getting her own shot. I see TVO starting with her at some point. Problem might be matchups. But definitely able to deal with pressure from quick point guards of which Aleah has trouble. She doesn't appear to be rattle easy. Calling a TO when on the floor with out SR calling it. She also rebounds much better than Alea. But rebounding is a big problem. I hope what was seen from Mack continues to improve on the rebounding side. TVO also is not a turnover machine like Aleah can be. Thoughts??

I believe she has just as good of a chance to be as decorated, if not more decorated than Talia by the time their college careers are finished. Like Talia, Sasha got off to a great start, but then pretty much played like freshman until the Washington game. Seemed the box score was showing 5 turnovers for her every night. Both she and Talia will have more games like Washington; both she and Talia will have more games where they play like freshmen. I would expect, however, that, as their careers progress, we'll see more of the former and less of the latter. Next year's team will include four 5 star recruits (Kennedy, Sasha, Talia, and Greta) who each have 4 years of eligibility left.

Aleah is 6th in the conference in assists to turnovers. You have kind of high standards.

They will play together alot and probably mix it up on who handles the ball primarily. Talia is 2 games in. Aleah is a senior. Scott clearly trusts Aleah. No doubt his trust for Talia will grow rapidly, if she continues to do what she has done in her first two games. If they can find a way to get Aleah more open shots, they will definitely do that as she is proven to be one of the top 3 point shooters in the country and the best OSU has ever had. This will also open up shots for Taya, Sasha, and Ellie.....and hopefully open things up for Taylor (who we really need to figure out how to get 10+ shots per game.) The addition of Talia will help alot, but it's early and she hasn't really played against strong competition. That will come and I hope she does great. I will leave the "turnover machine" comment alone, as it is totally uninformed. The rest of the post is right on the money though.
