”But the profession is better for having coaches like Andersen in it.” Um, no, no it isn’t!

”But the profession is better for having coaches like Andersen in it.” Um, no, no it isn’t! Well, it does make terrible coaches look pretty good in comparison so there is that.........

I think he knows he's not a very good HC so he feels guilty and walks away leaving money on the table. It is a decent gesture in today's greed driven world......but I think he ran out of jobs.....unless he's gonna be a position coach again.
The reality is he caught lightning in a bottle for a couple seasons at Utah St which catapulted him to Wisky.....now we know it was pretty much a fluke.

Gary Anderson also left $12.6m on the table when he left OSU. He did us a huge favor by walking away. Leaving $2.6m at Utah State, that makes $15.2m he has walked away from.

Appropriate that it appears there is a “fish on!” A decent gesture indeed...

He would have been fired for cause after 2017, and been entitled to nothing. By resigning, agreeing to be paid for the remainder of calendar 2017 but not beyond saved what little reputation he still had, and helped him get the USU job. At that point, he no longer could be saved from himself and lasted less than two years.

Good example for all college coaches. Gag! Oh, oops. I meant gag, not GAG, but, oh, never mind.

I think Andersen does have a much deeper love, for the lack of a better term, for USU than he ever did for OSU. Probably a lot easier for him to live in Logan having done what he did.

Ultimately, that's prolly what holds him down....cuz I think deep down he's a pretty good dude.

Yes, it's out of the spotlight, but it's harder to get booze and you have to marry the cheerleaders to get anywhere with them (most of them)
