Hey man you are 100% entitled to your opinion. Nobody said that you're not. The sane people are also 100% entitled to say you are wrong and to ridicule your opinion for how insane it is.

Apparently Anderpants don't come with pockets. It is criminal that every member of the board has not upvoted this.

Read on reddit the rumor is twice this past season Andersen had to be found and brought to practice by his staff. He missed his own practices twice... Coaching can be a pressure cooker. It ain’t for the faint of heart. I’ve lost sleep from coaching 10-year-olds in the Little League State tourney! I can only imagine the stress level for someone coaching D-I football. Of course, I got over my issues with a couple of Tylenol PM tablets. GAG appears to have hit something a bit stronger. I help coach my kids FLAG football team, I keep vodka in my water bottle

I like that the article is still blaming the staff he assembled - What was the problem at USU then?

That awful CGA coaching staff was: 1) Selected by him, 2) Hired by him, and 3) Most of them moved on to win a conference championship this year at SJSU. His choices for Def Coord were not good. Off Coord had potential but there was something sketchy about the QB selection process from day one.

Sitake would have been fine, if he would have stayed more than 1 year.

I'd encourage you all to read the full article on the Deseret News website: www.deseret.com/sports/2021/1/25/22245981/former-usu-footbal-coach-gary-andersen-refuses-payment-on-remainder-of-contractI'm not sure what Doug Robinson and Gary Andersen's relationship is, but it's clear he's very fond of the guy. What stood out to me was the lengths that Doug went to sh*t on OSU: Basically it's not Gary's fault it didn't work out at OSU, it's OSU's fault. Nevermind the fact that Wisconsin was better before and after he left, OSU was better before and after he left, and Utah State will be better before and after he left. Some necessary copy edits for the guy: Following the 2014 season, in which Wisconsin was 10-3, he resigned suddenly and left for Oregon State, one of which he turned into the worst program s in the country. It’s understatement to say that was a puzzling move on Oregon State's part. He left a big-time program at Wisconsin — where he was almost guaranteed to succeed (and did) — to take the job at perennial loser Oregon State, a team coming off one losing season after enjoying a streak of 8 bowl appearances in 10 years. which would be considered career suicide by A good opportunity for most competent coaches. He won only seven games there in 2½ seasons due to his unfortunately mistake of leaving his big boy pants at home.

I'm of the opinion that Sitake was, and for the most part, still is an empty suit. He imploded the OSU defense the first year with a complete overhaul despite not having the personnel. I think that was a huge mistake. He will forever be known as the DC of one of the worst defenses in OSU history. I'm not convinced he would have ever made that defense competitive if he had stayed at OSU. He knew he was in over his head and escaped as soon as he could. I don't see him as a long term answer for BYU. He hasn't been a good coach there until this year when the perfect storm of a JV schedule and a good QB allowed him to look like a decent coach.

Apparently you also get to judge ‘sanity and insanity’ - I am sooo impressed ! NOT ! LOL this is the weirdest circular logic trap ever, feel like you are my crazy aunt on Facebook. Wait, was I supposed to ridicule you thusly here? Let me try, "Apparently you get to judge whether a post is impressive or not. What are you, the arbiter of whether posts are impressive enough for public view? Who do you think you are?" Edit: shelby I'm not trying to roast on you too hard. Just pointing out that disagreeing, sometimes vehemently, is part and parcel for message boards.
