I’ll be anxiously awaiting Willtalk’s analysis on how much better this year’s team is than last year’s after seeing this team struggle with and give up 80 pts to one of the worst teams in the WCC. If USF is really one of the worst teams in WCC, then the WCC will be a tough conference this year. Granted, OSU will get run out of the gym against a PAC-12 opponent if we play like we did today, but USF made shots. OSU gave up way too many 3-pointers in our 1st game, and, got killed today from the 3-point line. Gotta shore up our perimeter defense. They won't be if they consistently shoot +30 3's per game and make nearly half of them. I don't think they will of course, but I think they will end up more towards the middle (even before this game). But we clearly have work to do - we started the game on an 8-0 run and looked like who we though they were, but that was about it. That said, this team is going to need time to gel, we're still a while off before we know if they will or not. Ellie looks like she's struggling to find her role, and pressing in the meantime. She's no longer the best player on her team, and maybe not even in the top 3 scoring options when she's on the floor, so she's having to learn her pecking order. Rueck will get that sorted. It's very good news though to see that Goforth can carry us past scoring droughts. We really only had that with Slocum last year, and she wasn't consistent in that role.

That was a very poor first half on our part. Terrible shooting, bad defense , out rebounded, not aggressive, leaving wide open shooters at the 3 point line. I am very unimpressed by our bigs except Jones. And as much as I like Goodman she is not a point guard or at least a starting PG. Simmons should be playing more and Mack ....not sure! Lets come out playing hard nose D and be more aggressive on the boards. Scott has his work cut out for him. Really hurt losing Destiny. Losing Destiny was massive, but it didn't totally surprise me, she was "I think" a good team mate, but was usually looking out for number 1. She always thought she should be the star instead of working within the actual system.

We also didn’t have the complimentary players to play that uptempo style.

Actually don't think her move to Arkansas will give her a better pro rating. I actually think the second move might have hurt her, good luck to her, she was an important Beav player for two years!

She passed OSU up when she committed to UW; then when she passed OSU up to play at Maryland; when she made it back here for seasons 2 and 3. Then left again for her fourth commitment. If that doesn't smack of Me-ball, I don't know what does.

Really missing Kennedy Brown's defense and rebounding. I think the difference is massive...3rd in the Pac-12 with her (at full strength of course) and 6th place without her....just my opinionated guess of course.

I don't think your guess is far off. By our standards, this could be a tough year.
But next year - Kennedy, Taylor, Taya, Sasha, Greta, Talia. That's quite a base.
By the way, since everybody gets another year, you think Destiny might take advantage of that and go play for her 4th D1 school? That would have to be a first, wouldn't it?

Not sure why this thread is about Destiny. She's gone. Time to move on.
I think we finish right around where the coaches and media predict we will. And I don't think that is a bad or underperforming season. The conference is really strong. Finishing in the top half is very respectable.
With regard to today's game. It was close because our defense is not very good. Especially defending against the 3 point line (both games so far.) That will need to improve for sure. Obviously.
Sasha is going to be a star. Love her attacking the basket.
Taylor was really solid again. 19 & 12 will be the norm for her night in and night out.
Alot of commentary about Aleah above, but I will take 14 & 6 from her. But not the 4 turnovers or missed free throws.
Ellie is still feeling things out. She will be fine. Can do alot.
I would like to see more from Taya offensively. Two 3's early, then not much else. We need to involve her more.
Jas was a big boost off the bench. Really like her in the role. A real spark like Aleah was a couple of years ago. 8 rebounds (& 10 pts) is awesome.
Savannah is steady. Not going to hurt us, but also not going to do too much.
Jelena and Jovana were not very good tonight. Jury is still out for me. Especially with Jelena. Just don't see it.
A win is a win. I think they will be ready for Colorado and Utah. I predict 2-0 heading into the Oregon game.

But any WNBA team looking at her will factor this into her draft position.
