This came up on FB this afternoon. Does anyone have any news? I don't know what you are referring to as I don't see a link or an image in your post. However, I did hear they are having a game Thursday now.

Great find. It almost seems to far away. This season, anything can happen between now and Thursday.

Their coach is in her 4th season there. She was 34-28 in the first 2, then 7-24 last year. There's only 1 senior on this year's roster. My guess would be that, 2 years ago, they must have been really top heavy with seniors and graduate transfers(?), so she redshirted 5 players. After all the seniors and grad transfers used up their eligibility 2 years ago they were left with a very young, inexperienced team last year - hence 7-24. Just idle speculation. I'd be curious to know the actual reason.

They have only 2 players over 6 feet (6'1" and 6'2") and all their leading scorers are 5'9 or 5'10. Needless to say, but Jelena and Taylor could be hard for them to stop and hard for them to score on inside. Our other players might have trouble keeping up, though, if their guards have some speed. Unfortunately, they are picked 10th out of 10 teams in the WCC preseason poll.

bvrbooster - they weren't 7-24 last year, they were 13-19. They struggled to finish a lot of games, but they were in most of them. You are looking at the previous year for the 7-24 record: usfdons.com/sports/womens-basketball/schedule/2019-20This is actually a pretty good game for us. I personally know one of the players (one of the 3 US players), who played against Taya in HS in WA. This team had a fairly rough season last year, as the collection of players from everywhere that had a lot to figure out. They were playing pretty well by the end of the season, including a road win at Pacific, which was a team that gave us some fits. They also played pretty respectably against Stanford early in the season at the Warriors new arena. They've played one game this year, a 7 pt loss @uc Davis. I don't know how good Davis is, but they've been a good program recently. This should be a team OSU can handle, but there will be resistance. This is a very valuable game to get in ahead of conference (if we actually get it in).

They'll probably rely heavily on outside shooting as Western Montana did. They'd need to shoot lights out, cause they're unlikely to snag too many offensive rebounds or be able to drive the lane - attempting to post us up would be folly as well.
Meanwhile, on our end, Taylor and Jelena should combine for 30 or more again.
I hope they've already left San Francisco and are playing elsewhere. They could easily follow Santa Clara's lead and shut them down.
