I don't want to take away from the Raegan Beers talk because I think she is an outstanding pickup. The Beavs are putting together some great classes. A lot of times we rank the classes against other teams in the country, or the Pac-12. If I ranked the Beavs against the Beavs in recent years, I think my ranking would look like this: #4 2020 Sasha, Savannah, and Teresa #3 2021 Talia and Greta #2 2022 Raegan and Adlee #1 2019 Taylor, Kennedy, and Jelena
It's a tough one though, and I am so high on Adlee and Raegan that it wasn't easy for me to go with 2019. Of course, both 2021 and 2022 could still add more players which would certainly make a difference.
The Beaver current classes are worth taking a look at as well. If everyone sticks around, the Beavs will have 5 sophomores next year---Kennedy, Jelena, Teresa, Savannah, and Shasa. Two incoming freshman would be Greta and Talia and the 2022 class would be Raegan and Adlee. If the Beavs were to add another player in 2022 (or even 2021) who/what would you like to see? I think I would still like to see a point guard. I'm also a huge Grace VanSlooten fan, so I would love to land her, but that probably became a little less likely with the committment of Raegan. Obviously Timea Gardiner would be an amazing pickup. I've never had a lot of faith she would join the Beavs, but some do think the Beavs have a shot, so we can hope. What a front court Timea and Raegan would make! There are still some really good 2022's the Beavs have offered. Go Beavs!

Adlee posted a screenshot of Raegan telling her she was committing — I attached it below. Kind of a cool moment. Sounds like Adlee had been recruiting her for a while, much like Taylor recruited Kennedy, Sasha recruited Savannah, and Greta recruited Talia.

She definitely looks to be a solid 6'3" standing next to 6'6" Brown and 6"4" Jones!

Can I say how great it is to see how excited two girls can be about life that is still 2 years away!! I need to learn a lesson from them.

I really, really like this get. Reagan has the type of frame that I covet ... super solid lower body strength, good size plus quick feet (something we haven't seen on the men's side since maybe Reid?). From watching a bit of her tape, she looks to be a player that grabs rebounds with authority, plays defense with a rim protection mentality, and is a heads-up passer on offense. She looks to be a very good fit for a Rueck team, with the added bonus of having a frame that will not get pushed around by the more aggressive Pac-12 teams, which hasn't been so common with Rueck recruits. I've very excited about seeing her at OSU - she just seems like someone that will pan out to have a really good +/- within this program (well, probably most programs, but she seems a particularly good fit for OSU to me).

I am happy for Beers and OSU on her commitment. However, the video of her I looked at yesterday that was linked on this site showed a bunch of defensive plays and very, very little offense. I think I saw her make one 3, that I can remember. Surely, she has much, much more offense to her game. Where is that video?
Go Beavs!

I don't pretend to know how it is determined how many stars a recruit receives, but I note there are but 14 five stars in the 2022 listing and only fifteen for 2021. This compares to 53 for 2020, before ESPN made the change.

I saw a lot of offense besides the three you mention. I saw a drive to the hoop and several shots around the basket. Look at her scoring average. Also, I found an article about a 30+ point game she had. She is on a very good team with several other scorers and she clearly loves to make the assist (very evident in the game I watched).

Unconfirmed, but I heard from a pretty good source that Beers also tore her ACL during the summer. Yikes.
edit - Confirmed she tore it in April.

I hope both she and Blacklock have full, speedy recoveries. Why are there so many ACL injuries in women's basketball? Is it getting more common or is it just making "news" more often?

ACL injuries are really common with female athletes in general, but especially basketball and soccer: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4805849/Fortunately, outcomes have become often very good. For example, Megan Rapinoe has had 3 major ACL tears and later returned to top form each time.
