For 2022. Not rated by anyone, but seems to be a rising star. Top player in the Lubbock area and all-state as a sophomore. 21.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 86 assists, 44 steals, 43 blocked shots. Dad played college ball, "We play against each other all the time. He can’t beat me anymore because I’ve been able to outshoot him since I was in the 7th grade, but he’s 6-foot-5, so I’ve had to learn to get around him and that’s helped make me a better player.” Maxpreps has some highlights: www.maxpreps.com/athlete/adlee-blacklock/XqEYmeJeEeiAxKkkK9HIDg/default.htmI don't like to draw too many conclusions from highlights, but she seems pretty physical and she demonstrates a variety of skills in these highlights. Seems like a little bit of Mik, a little bit of Katie Mac.

bennyskid - I'm totally with you on not drawing conclusions from highlight reels....
Years of scouting and recruiting talent has instilled in me an awareness of their limitations. Hell, I've watched kids live, everyday in practice for 2 months before deciding whether they are starters or not.
However, I have learned one thing from highlight reels - they are pretty darn good helping a coach at finding super players. For the vast majority of players, film only helps a bit. But, the super players jump out at you.
With Adlee, the film to me screams: "super player." Her physicality on her perimeter shooting (stopping, gathering, verticality, release) are all superior. As I wrote in an earlier post, doing what she does - even in an empty gym - is very impressive.... If she remains injury free, I predict she will be a top five h.s. player in Texas before she graduates...And that is saying a LOT.....
What a great get for coach and staff....Can't wait to find out the details on how OSU got her attention, then her commit. GO BEAVS!!.

An intersting, Baylor related quote from the above post:
"Through camps and her parents’ connection to Baylor, their alma mater, Adlee Blacklock has known Lady Bears’ coach Kim Mulkey since the 7th grade. Baylor was one of the first of a litany of programs to offer a scholarship, including Texas Tech, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Oklahoma." ----------- The first time I read about her Baylor connections I figured the Beavs had next to zero chance to pull her away from family, home state, and Baylor. Now I'm getting more and more curious about how this came to be....In her twitter announcement she tags Coach H. but not Rueck..Not sure that means anything.
My guess is that her parents would not endorse a public commitment like she issued without a LOT of family discussion. Her family does not strike me as one that acts impulsively or without thinking things thru.
However, that they trust a 10th grader to make a decision like this kinda amazes me to tell the truth....She probably doesn't have a drivers license yet she is deciding not only to move away from home - but about as far away as you can get from Lubbock and still be in the USA.
Somebody did a boat load of recruiting and persuading...When and where is what intrigues me. GO BEAVS!!

Great get. Always great when we beat some terrific competition for a top prospect.

Adlee tore her ACL at an AAU tournament last weekend. way to bring this train to a screeching halt, (but thanks for the news), hate to hear, even if she wasn't an OSU commit, dang, it seems they really need to work on more preventative measures.

Yiiikes!! That is sad news.... Now, with a go-getter like Adlee - keeping her under control, and out of the gym, during rehab is the next challenge.... This has to be a tough blow to her entire family.... Good luck to you, kid.... GO BEAVS!!

This outside the box strategy of recruiting people named Adley/Adlee seems to be pretty solid.

Adlee tore her ACL at an AAU tournament last weekend. I googled her name and checked out her twitter feed and didn't see any comments that would allude to a recent injury. Could you provide us with the source of your information? Thanks.
