This article is dated July 23 - and not a word about her ripped knee??
Her injury occurred about July 15...is that right?? Interesting....Nothing major, but interesting...
The article refers to her trip to Corvallis - probably at the beginning of her sophomore year - so the Beavs obviously made in-roads into her recruiting, and attracting the interest of her parents, while she was in 9th grade....
Texas is arguably the top producer of girl h.s. basketball talent in the country....Nice to be able to grab some of the good ones....
Recruiting is an intense business....

The sportswriter who wrote this story is Alexis Cubit....She has a twitter account (but I don't).
She covers Lubbock high school sports...Someone should be able to contact her about A's injury....

I recently read on the Baylor site that when she was up for a visit at Oregon St she talked with TJ KB and they told her that when you are in a P5 D1 program you do not have much time for anything else. So being at Oregon St distance-wise does not make much of a difference as opposed to Baylor. You don't get to go home except for say Christmas or the semester brakes any way and then you fly. So that eliminated the Baylor home state advantage. She also spent time with and established a relationship with Taylor and Kennedy and that certainly played a big part, knowing they were set in the post for years to come.

Barring injury, isn't she looking at 1 year overlap with TJ and two year overlap with KB? That doesn't seem a real compelling reason for her to join OSU specific to her career timeline. My point is that the overall OSU program probably deserves the main credit here. |
