Agree with others, she was an easy offer to spot. She seems to have unusual athleticism and strength that makes her play style look more typical of male players. From her shooting form (high release point, singular motion jump-shot and effortless arm motion) as well as her winging baseball passes and scoop shots for any angle, she looks to be a unique physical talent, especially in upper body strength but also pretty good hopes... topped off with polish well beyond a HS sophomore. She's clearly been a gym rat for a long time as well.

Not sure if it shows up in the clips posted here, I saw something in another forum. She routinely launches shots from well beyond the 3 point arc, she has deep range.

An intersting, Baylor related quote from the above post: "Through camps and her parents’ connection to Baylor, their alma mater, Adlee Blacklock has known Lady Bears’ coach Kim Mulkey since the 7th grade. Baylor was one of the first of a litany of programs to offer a scholarship, including Texas Tech, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Oklahoma." ----------- The first time I read about her Baylor connections I figured the Beavs had next to zero chance to pull her away from family, home state, and Baylor. Now I'm getting more and more curious about how this came to be....In her twitter announcement she tags Coach H. but not Rueck..Not sure that means anything. My guess is that her parents would not endorse a public commitment like she issued without a LOT of family discussion. Her family does not strike me as one that acts impulsively or without thinking things thru. However, that they trust a 10th grader to make a decision like this kinda amazes me to tell the truth....She probably doesn't have a drivers license yet she is deciding not only to move away from home - but about as far away as you can get from Lubbock and still be in the USA. Somebody did a boat load of recruiting and persuading...When and where is what intrigues me. GO BEAVS!! Great points, all.... I was going to flippantly quip "maybe Coach Mulkey threw her jacket at Adlee at summer camp" but its probably too hot in Waco for jackets that time of year.....or any time of year. It is possible that being soooo familiar with the Baylor coach allowed Adlee to decide, for whatever reason, not to go there. Note that she doesn't thank the Coach whom the article states she has camped with since 7th grade (again - not trying to read anything into it, since she doesn't tag SR either, as noted somewhere in this thread). Also, the "encumbered legacy" of both parents going to Baylor might have led her to want to author her own story. So much attention from so many Power 5 schools so early might have encouraged the Blacklock family to commit when they "found the place they knew felt right" (another theme common in the commitment of many of our young women - they get a gut feeling about the right fit) and let her have a more peaceful two years of high school. Many early commits speak of the "weight lifted". Perhaps she is another of those "want to have an adventure far from home" kind of teens. I have two teen young men living under my roof, my own offspring, but I can't lay claim to a very good understanding of them, mind you. I do agree that this kind of commitment likely involved a lot of family discussion, and would not have been made public lightly. Note the Beavers have not had a decommit in the Coach SR era (he doesn't seem to recruit the flighty), a run I sure hope holds true in this case. Go Beavers!

Sounds like the staff did a great job recruiting her. She only tagged Holsinger, so he may have been the lead recruiter here. She appears to have played for a smaller, more localized AAU team, which might explain why her offers were mostly to schools in the Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma region.
When the staff finds someone they really like and think fits well, they do a nice job of going all in on them.

Torn ACL = no junior season = not ranked as high as she might otherwise be going into senior year. Reminiscent of another Texan who had a pretty fair freshman year here at OSU.
The program's impressive national recruiting continues, and this illustrates once again that we are perceived as a national power. When Adlee arrives from Lubbock, she'll join Taylor (senior, Texas), Kennedy (rs junior, Kansas), Sasha (junior, Arkansas), Savannah (junior, Georgia), Greta (sophomore, Illinois), and Talia (sophomore, Washington).
One can already start to see that the 2021 team is going to be better than this coming year's team, and 2022 is going to be better than 2021, ... Great stuff going to be happening at Gill!

It will be interesting to see if her stock continues to rise now that she committed so early. I especially want to see if she gets ranked and how high by ESPN, ProspectsNation, AGSR, etc. (which may not happen anytime soon, due to injury)

When the staff finds someone they really like and think fits well, they do a nice job of going all in on them. From what I can tell, Adlee was only twitter friends with BH and KF until today, which would be a reason she didn't tag SR, although she did thank him in her comments. Now that she committed, her and SR, as well as JC, are following each other on twitter. Every indication is that Brian Holsinger was the lead recruiter. As 411500 said earlier, the details of this recruitiment would be very interesting to hear. Adlee and SR may not of been following each other on twitter, but going on observations from what we know of some other recruits, this one has SR written all over it. Hope we find out more. With her parents being Baylor grads, they no doubt are quite familiar with the success Oregon State has had against Baylor in recent years. I'm just glad those victories over Baylor didn't make the whole family hate the Beavs. With her Dad being a basketball player, I'm also curious if the Beavs new relationship with Jeremy Darlow helped. What Dad of a super talented basketball player would not want his daughter to 'build a brand' out of their success? Adlee also has a Bible verse in her twitter tag line. I'm thinking her family may be fairly religious which also is typlical of the Oregon State womens team. With her ACL injury, she will miss her junior season (if there was even going to be one), and probably won't be totally whole for AAU ball next summer, which means she probably won't ever be ranked highly. Don't worry, she's the real thing! Exciting pick up today for Beaverwbb! Oh, and someone ask about AAU ball because of Covid. Yes, there is quite a bit of AAU ball that started a few weeks back. College coaches can't be there to watch, but games are being streamed.

Isn't it a bit odd that she would declare right after a acl injury. I think it is. Who knows?

from the above post - taken from boneyard----
"2022 Recruit Adlee Blacklock [high level recruit with offers from Baylor and basically every other B12 team] suffered a major knee injury during the recent Heart of Texas Showcase event. She was excelling prior to the injury. She will miss her HS Junior season but should be good to go for next Summer. Best pure shooter in the 2022 class and one of the best over the past couple of decades." ------- I don't know anything about the poster who wrote this, but I hope the assessment is correct!! GO BEAVS!!

411500, I was going to say the same thing. I don't know who Adriacus is from the man on the moon, but I hope they are correct about Adlee being one of the best shooters of the past couple decades. Adriacus just joined the boneyard on June 29th, so who knows how much of an insider they may, or may not be.
I don't know if Adlee is the best pure shooter of the 22 class, but she is definitely one of the best players. Just the fact that she can outplay her 6'5" Dad is impressive. A team with Sasha, Greta, Talia, Savannah, and Adlee as it's guards/wings is pretty exciting to think about.

Adriacus just added this today: "Blacklock is an elite shooter. Still working on other parts of her game. She suffered a serious knee injury earlier this month. The injury will keep her from playing her Junior season. That injury [and recent recruiting developments re Ashlon Jackson] substantially impacted her recruiting and decision to commit early to secure a spot at a preferred program."
Curious as to why he thinks Ashlon Jackson (ESPN # 19 overall for 2022) had something to do with her decision.

Isn't it a bit odd that she would declare right after a acl injury. I think it is. Who knows? Who knows indeed? Maybe OSU immediately contacted her to reaffirm that the offer stood no matter what, and others were slow to do so? Or something along those lines that reassured her? Anyway, not only do I not know, I don't really care why she chose this moment to commit. I'm just glad she did. With the talented guard/small forward types who are coming in over the next few years, we have to be looking more attractive to the bigs we'll be needing to bring in. A 2022 big could readily envision taking over for Taylor after her freshmen year and know that the other positions on the court are in great shape. I would think it's a lot easier to sell a kid on, "The puzzle's complete except for one piece, and that's you," than, "Once you commit, we'll be able to build around you and recruit some top players." We've already got other top players is proven fact, a sure thing; we'll get other top players once we have you is pie in the sky. Somebody else mentioned that it's nice to finally get a top player to commit so early; I think it's way beyond that. Stanford, Connecticut, Louisville - the long term elite programs routinely seem to have that happen, and it's a huge plus. This is one more big, big step in our being recognized nationally as being in that group.
