I hope the Beavs didn't get involved with her too late, but I've confirmed that 5' 4" Raina Perez is in the transfer portal. Becuase of her size, skills and determination, she has moved to the top of my wish list for the Beavs. If she chooses someone else, I'm going to be sad, but will probably follow her senior season wherever she lands.
Here's what the Cal State Fullerton Mens' Head coach had to say about her:

Carrington’s brother graduated in three years and was a grad transfer to Utah Well I guess he had a lot of time to study during his suspensions from the team and between his assaults on fellow students.

Missed out on another top four cut. The portal is getting more bare every day.

Yeah, that one is too bad. I really like her game. The portal may be getting more bare (haven't watched the daily count), but some are still entering, so who knows. Beavs really need a high quality guard for next year though. Could be the difference between a good year, and a great year.

That's kind of a strange list. Other than NC State those teams are fairly bad.
Is anybody starting to get a little worried that NO PGs want to come play in Corvallis? They could really use another to help out Goodman this year, but what the heck are they going to do in 21-22?

Top PG's don't want to be a back up. And despite the opinions of some here, I don't think Rueck see's anyone taking Aleah's place this coming season. The season after is a different story.

Rueck has been swapping out PGs and/or playing 2 at a time together quite a bit the last 2-3 years. I don't see any reason to think another PG type of player couldn't start alongside Goodman. If there was one, which it's looking more and more like there won't be.

It seems his idea was confusion to the opposition. It also seemed to lead to confusion to the Beav's. I'm hoping he's decided it is a failed experiment.

Well if Goodman is his only option, there won't be any confusion. There could be other problems though.

Goodman gets her points as a two. That's where she thrives.I don't get Ruedick here at all.

And no one is allowing for Jazz having grown into it. Some kids step up when they're given the ball. With Taya back, TJ with a year experience playing in the toughest conference, Jelena getting on the court, Jazz [The music for her is Carole King's Jazzman] ready to step up, and Aleah with something to prove, and the new kids -- I'm feeling ok about next year. Now, if AA can get cleared ...

Back to transfer Raina Perez....I have no idea how much Coach and staff recruited her, but one thing to consider is that its possible Rueck thought she did not have the defensive skills to be a full time player in his program. I do not know if this is true, but knowing Coach, it's sure a possibility.
But, it's also possible that slashing point guards just don't see OSU as a program where they can shine....
Shifting gears: Didn't Katie Mac play point guard her Frosh season? GO BEAVS !!
