Kennedy Brown has not had surgery as yet. My guess is that she is traveling with the team this week to Vegas. That delay would support not having her rush back and play next season.
I too would prefer seeing Brown use next season as a year of recovery and strengthening, given the fact that a full year is typically needed for a more complete recovery for a basketball player.

I'd agree except there can be several things going on that might be positive. Sometimes there is some healing of other issues (I have no idea of hers) like slight MCL tear, patella/ligament disruption, etc. that might minimize some of the surgery she might need. Heck I even had one player hurt during basketball season, sure fire ACL! Swelling was bad, sat out the last two months of hoops as swelling subsided, did some therapy to minimize atrophy and during surgery the ACL was only partially torn and played the last half of baseball season with a small brace?! On the other side... they can wait, go in and find stuff that was unforeseen! But, I'm of the belief she's a RS next year.

Can we collectively agree to put a moratorium on Ionescu bashing in this forum? She has a number of strengths that will result in her being regarded as one of the greatest players in women's collegiate basketball history. Like her or not, Ionescu has added to the OSU-Oregon rivalry these last four seasons.
OSU beat Oregon four out of the eight times (so far) that the Beavs played against her during her career. Both teams will have benefitted from having prepared for and played against each other.
Ionescu has matured and is helping to grow the WBB game for those who follow. Although she will likely never be my favorite player, I can appreciate what she has already accomplished as a player.

I’ve never bashed her and I’m sure she’s a perfectly nice 22 year old to her family and to her friends who I’m sure are numerous. It will be interesting to see to what extent, if any, she “helps to grow the WBB game”. That is a pretty big expectation to saddle any player with, no matter how talented and accomplished.

SI must be thrilled that she now has the stamp of approval from the Beaver fan base.

SI must be thrilled that she now has the stamp of approval from the Beaver fan base. Should SI do something objectionable again I would expect to read about it here. I was a bit surprised that no one here mentioned the "kick" that SI put on Melgoza last Sunday that resulted in an intentional foul. Perhaps SI is now being given some benefit of the doubt when her competitive emotions show out.

SI is not a Beaver, but, she is Larry Bird reincarnated. I love watching her play. It has been a gift to see her play in person so many times over the years. My first love is OSU Women's basketball--what a great bunch of kids, coaches, and a fantastic program. I also thoroughly enjoy the NCAA WBB game these days. It has come a long way, in the past decade, and, it is great fundamental basketball. The fact that the ladies don't bolt to the WNBA after a year, makes it so easy to get behind the team when you have them for 3-4 years. GO BEAVS!

While it seemed she was protecting herself from Melgoza falling over backwards on top of her, it was definitely excessive. Melgoza is not slight of build and Ionescu totally launched her. She had to put plenty of oomph into it. Melgoza looked rather surprised, like "Did that really just happen?"
