According to Coach Kelly on KEZI.
Reporters: Kobe Bryant perhaps? He is a Sabrina fan!
Made me retch.
Why not just let this special weekend of competition speak for itself. But noooooo, Nike U has to turn it into a spectacle.
I can imagine the sick, putrid little bumper stories they are planning if it is Kobe and Sabrina.

Nike marketing + potential for Nike contract + Phil Knight $ to buy glitz & personnel —-> uck incremental success over the Beavers
Yes, disgusting. If they weren’t blind to it, it would likely detract from the pleasure ucks derive from their winning. It would likely blind Beaver fans if we were the beneficiaries instead, which makes me glad we weren’t.

I hear that the special guest is distinguished duck alum Alberto Salazar who will be giving out free steroid cream treatments and souvenir autographed clean urine samples after the game.

Taking off the orange glasses, this is a very good thing for WBB. For sure, if it was happening at almost any other school, it would be much easier to appreciate.
Last week, I was walking through the airport in SD, and there was a crowd in a bar watching the UO-Stanford game on ESPN ... that's a pretty rare thing, especially during the regular season. The reality is that the casual fan is more likely to follow a player than a team, and Sabrina is making that possible (along with a lot of help from Nike and ESPN). That can only help the WNBA as well, which needs players/personalities that draw audiences much more than the college game. Nike pulling some levers to make the media take notice is really helpful to the game overall as well. I suspect there will even be a lot of causal beaver fans that just then learn how highly rated OSU is that night, and only due to mentions about the 'celebrity' being at the game (since the casual fan isn't likely to stumble across the game on the Pac-12 network).
And our women's team benefits as well ... if it is, say Kobe Bryant or Lebron, how cool would that be for them?
