Sling here too... but Pac12 has games on Fox, and could have games moved to ABC, etc depending on the importance of the matchup or Bowl games. Hence you'd have to have antenna or subscribe to local channel streaming ( I do thru Spectrum for $15 on top of my internet). Add Apple, the Pac12 and Apple do not have to carry the complete slate, just as the Pac12 network doesn't now. Now I see what you are getting at. I look at the few games on Fox and ABC to be a bonus that currently is paying off. Getting more streamers will likely be what pays off for owning the network. Those streamers will be getting tons of material once they can get the network. I get Fox Sports on Sling as well, it should't be a problem. I did try running Sling directly through the onboard Roku on my LG TV and was having issues with it, through the Roku box no issues at all so no extra charge for Fox Sports. FS1 and FS2 no issues... but Fox and other local channel games are not on Sling. I love not having cable or SAT! I watch anything I want for half the price. Some shows do not have DVR capability... but can record most.

Unfortunately splitting programming is likely the only way to optimize revenue. All the media companies (and media company wannabes) do not want to be cut out of the game, and there's now more players than ever. The NFL has already gone that route, from Twitter to Amazon Prime/Twitch. You can go direct with the NFL, but they have a ton of leverage to do that, which I'm not confident the Pac-12 has.
I don't like it either, but I'm fully expecting to need 5+ subscriptions to see every game on TV for the foreseeable future.

The way I see it, Apple could be negotiating for the Pac 12 channel rights right now, and then in 2024 when the current contract comes up they could be bidding against ABC, ESPN and Fox and others to get the rights for all of the remaining games/programming the others already have rights to.
Apple TV Plus (or whatever they call their streaming service) is in it's infancy right now. Supposedly there are currently 1.5 billion Apple devices and computers in use world wide. If Apple continues to grow and their streaming service catches on, there's a possibility there could be 100-200 million or more paid subscribers paying 5 bucks a month or more by 2024 and they could potentially be a bigtime player/bidder to get exclusive rights to those premium games. The more bidders the better.

The more bidders the better. Yup... lots of Apple devices out there (although only a small percentage of all devices, certainly not a majority). However, while they have a somewhat captive audience there (and new apple device buyers get a free year of ATV+), that walled garden is a double edged sword. How many Android users will go through the pain of managing an Apple ID, and dipping their toe into the Apple ecosystem (which previously they have avoided) just to get Apple TV? Meanwhile ALL the other streaming services are happily used on ANY device, including all 1.5 billion Apple devices. Apple's exclusive eco system is one of the things that helped propel their extreme growth and helped them stem the evenitible tide, but it has also (and will continue more and more) limited it, and will ultimately be it's undoing. FWIW, I have really enjoyed Fubo.tv, it gets all the Pac-12 channels and fox channels, but of course misses anything ESPN, and it's cloud DVR works really well. Plus you can get a week free trial if you just need to get a single game or two. As much as I wish their was a single service where I could just pay for Beaver games and only beaver games, unfortuantely it will be a juggling act of multiple streaming services, illegal streaming, or a very expensive cable package for the forseeable future

I have tried lots of other options, Peak, Alyrica, Century Link, cell hotspot, etc. but Comcast pretty much has a monopoly, at least in my neighborhood, either based on access (can't use Peak because I don't have line of site to their dish), quality (a cell hotspot is expensive and slow/inconsistent), or price (Comcast, as long as you just get internet, and are always calling after they jack the price, is still the cheapest).

Our area is Spectrum or ridiculously high cost fiber company. Sling, Prime, Spectrum net + their local channel package (some overlap to Sling) = half the coast of Cable/SAT + net.

Yeah I definitely play way less for Comcast internet plus streaming (Netflix, Disney+ and FUBO [sometimes] for us), than the equivalent Comcast buddle that would include Beaver sports, I just want to drop comcast all together, more as a political statement than anything else

And a couple are super cheap with a student discount. I do not run the "show" on the details. I just say what I need and if the change is cheaper with quality, switch... I'm good. I just love that I can DVR game that I'm not highly interested in and speed thru the commercials and play to play lapses. Rose and Sugar bowls both viewed in less than 3 hours!

Everyone's talking about their costs without associating a $ figure. So here we go, format your replies like mine so we can have a useful database.
Excluding taxes, because every location is going to have different tax rates. I've included 2 fees because Comcast includes them under "regular monthly charges"
Location: Seattle, WA Provider: Comcast $199.64/month includes the following: X1 Preferred Pro Triple Play Digital Preferred + HBO + Showtime + Premium DVR Service + HD Technology Fee + Extreme Pro Internet + XFINITY Unlimited Select Sports Entertainment Package Service Discount Service to additional TV with TV Box Internet/voice equipment rental Broadcast TV fee Regional sports fee Internet is HSD Extreme 400 (speeds up to 500 Mbps, 1 terabit data/month limit)
On top of this we have Netflix and Apple TV+ (free for one year, most likely will not subscribe after free trial is up)

Here you go TheGlove: Location: Corvallis, OR. Provider: Comcast Cost: $65-70ish/month Don't remember exactly Product: Internet only, this includes the modem/wifi rental Provider: Netflix Cost: $16/month Product: Streaming TV shows and movies, The office is about to fall off what is available and my kids will be VERY sad about that. IMHO, this is the best bang for you content buck. We get the "Premium" subscription because we have a large family, and no one ever wants to watch the same thing at the same time, so two devices at a time just doesn't cut it Provider: Disney+ Cost: $70/year Product: I bit the bullet and paid for the year to get the small discount, otherwise it is $7/month (so two months free if you buy the year). IMHO it is worth it just to have access to the THIRTY seasons of The Simpsons I have also been enjoying going back and watching all of the Mavel movies.... Awwww who am I kidding, you all know that I just have "The Little Mermaid" on a constant loop in my "Man Cave" Provider: Fubo.tv Cost: $0/month (for me because I am a cheap bastard), $55-$70/month depending on if you want regional pac-12 channels are not, which you do if you want to see as much Beaver content as possible. Product: Most Beaver games unless they are on ESPN channels (Ugh, I hate you ESPN 3!!!). Also a really good "cloud" DVR, so you can record and watch later. Since I am a cheap bastard (as stated above) during the football season I would sign up for a free trial, record/watch the game, and then cancel the free trial before getting charged. The next week I would sign up again with a different email address, nothing nefarious or criminal, or cheating. I didn't have to clear cookies, or use VPNs or go incognito or anything, just sign up for a new free trial with a different email. They most not care because it would be easy to just check the MAC address or IP or have a cookie or whatever. BTW, "fastmail" is my favorite email site for very quickly making a new email address Provider: Amazon Prime Cost: $119/year or $12.99/month (I go with the year obviously, only saves ten bucks but.... that is ALMOST a coors light at a beaver football game ) Product: So much more than video streaming obviously, the free shipping and returns and such make it worth it alone. Amazon music would make it worth it alone. The video portion of Amazon Prime is actually quite poor, I rarely use it to stream Prime videos (IOW, included in the Prime subscription for free), however it is the cheapest and most convenient way to rent and watch almost any movie ever made. With Prime most movies in HD are 3.99 and you get 48 hours from hitting play to watch it. Cheaper and easier than driving to a redbox and hoping they have the movie you want, and if you want something less recent.... Well, there are no video rental stores anymore, and the library is a crapshoot... I actually don't know where I would go looking for a movie rental other than Amazon. Provider: Scribd Cost: $8.99/month Product: Not video or sports related, but I like it, so I am going to tell you about it anyways! Scribd is is Audible, except cheaper, more than just audiobooks and it doesn't suck! Audible is way more expensive and limits how many audibooks you can listen to. It isn't actually a subsciption so much as a monthly reoccuring credit purchansing scam. With Scribd for your 9 bucks a month you get unlimited e-books, audio books, magazines, podcats, etc. And, for me at least, coolest of all is their ever expanding library of documents, pdfs, and sheet music! For any other instrumentalists out there you know that sheet music can be DAMN expensive! I was tickled to find a large quanitity at Scribd, and have love being able to listen to a book while doing chores around the house. Things we have had in the past, and may go back to / enjoyed, but didn't have time for... Provider: Hulu Cost: varies greatly between $6-$60/month Product: I liked Hulu when we had it, but there is only so much time in the day and too much content to be watched With their push to get into the Live content game, it would not suprise me if Hulu replaces Netflix for us at somepoint. Hulu has the user base to get some live sports going and wipe Sling, Fubo, Apple TV, etc off the map pretty quickly. I actually hope something like that happens, like @basba1111 I don't relish managing 16 subscriptions to watch 12 games a year Provider: HBO Now Cost: $15/month Product: Like hulu we just didn't have the time to watch, and for the two shows I really wanted to see it was a little steep. If I had all the time in the world I would probably get it again just to watch all of Silcon Valley again

Dittos for the PAC-12 Network! I am sick of the craptastical P12N - craptastic coverage of current P-12 games; okay coverage of ancient games, classic games, who-gives-a-**** games; way too many games on ESPN, or FS-1 (not everyone gets those channels, by-the-way). Holy Crap, even the Rose Bowl wasn’t on one of the alphabet channels! What is this world coming to? Dogs and cats sleeping together?!

We're using Comcast for internet only. Our bill was over 225 a month for just the internet and cable channels. Now it's 80 a month plus 40-45 for Sling. Netflix/Showtime/HBO were and are extra in either case. Our overall bill is down a bit over a hundred a month.

As per Glove's format
Location Bend Internet Century Link $60/mo we've been happy with it. We had Bend Broadband for a year or 2 but since it was a vacation house we wanted to turn it off & on when there were periods of time we would be away. They made it harder & harder to do that so we switched to Direct TV. A lot of people in Bend have service issues with BBB. Some of the older neighborhoods get overloaded at the nodes. The newer 'hoods get the good infrastructure. Dog forbid Buffy in Northwest Crossing gets service dropped and she can't watch Rachel Ray & Guy Fieri.
Sling TV $45/mo Orange or Blue plus Sports Extra. Price just went up I think it's $45/month all in. I think that includes the Fox sports. Sling was in a dispute with Fox but i think they resolved it. But I suspect that is why the price increase but wadda I know.
Netflix $12/mo all the stuff there
OTA antennae for local channel Need to have my Bob Shaw in the morning. It's a sparkling day in CO
That's it. I dropped DTV after Mrs TB passed in May. The cost was just way more than I wanted to pay. Plus I had Sling on top of DTV to get Pac 12 stations. I think our stripped down cost was $185/mo. We didn't have many premium channels Mrs TB wanted her cooking shows and The View & Today show. It was just too much hassle to get her to get her to navigate the different inputs and stuff. Me i don't mind. I did want to watch a movie that no one had so i looked at Redbox. They had it on streaming for $3.99 rent. So I did that. It worked pretty well & I will use that again.

For those ditching traditional cable and trying to decide what streaming service to use...
Check out reelgood.com
It's a streaming service search site that will help you determine where the content you want to see is available.
