maybe this link works betterI like this hire. And yeah i like it because this guy comes from an institution that does Football and does it well.

Won't hurt at all - if there is anyone who can understand the importance of athletics like President Risser did, it would be a hire from LSU - and I bet he is a big baseball fan  |

On paper looks to be an upgrade. Either you talk a good game or you step up and get things done. Our current pres talks a good game...sad.

When we get pissed at the new President, it will be quite easy to just add a couple periods to express our feelings:

Ed Ray did rebuild the university. The place was nearing wrecking ball status in a lot of buildings prior to Risser and Ray. Add in the State funding cuts to Higher Ed., and the progress becomes almost remarkable. The football aspect may have suffered, but the Smith hire may well reverse that point.
By the way, LSU was recently celebrating their new athletic center building that had been in the planning stages for years. 23 million. A drop in the bucket compared to the west side Reser rebuild.
And as noted in earlier posts, Corvallis is a whole lot nicer than Baton Rouge from the crime aspect. We debate the young lady, bicycle incident for days while Baton Rouge tries to lower their crime rate below Caracas.

If the new president is good at raising funds,we certainly should get the West side of Reser underway on time. Lots of hard work is being done behind the scenes to get this project completed. Excited for the future...

He can't be any worse than Ray. It is going to take years to undo the damage he did to the majors that are based on the west side of campus.
