He can't be any worse than Ray. It is going to take years to undo the damage he did to the majors that are based on the west side of campus. Nonsense.

thank yall for taking this idiot off of our hands... most of the LSU fanbase wanted him gone about 4 years ago Curious at to why? Looks like he came from Long Beach five years ago. just look at how he handled the Les Miles situation and the Will Wade situation plus he was basically selected by exGov Bobby Jindal without a proper search taking place

This seems to be a good summary: www.change.org/p/scott-ballard-remove-f-king-alexander-as-lsu-presidentLots of soup, not much oyster. Read the comments too. Much of this looks pretty dumb now that LSU is ranked #1 and poised to win a national championship...

What I find funny about that linked article is that it is primarily about athletics. Yes, the author mentions academics, but certainly don't get the impression that is high up as far as his complaints -- athletics are. I realize that from a fan perspective athletics probably matter the most and it might be blasphemy (especially in the South) to say this, but sports shouldn't be the main criteria for success as a university president.

Yeesh... here is a guy with A LOT of time on his hands and plenty of grudges to bear... thugthebook.blogspot.com/He has quite a lot to say about the entire Alexander family. Makes our new Pres out to be everything from a philanderer and adulterer to a conniving con artist / tax fraud criminal... and that is just the few paragraphs out of thousands I glanced at! I assume the OSU board did all of it's due diligence and this guys ramblings can be ignored, but it might be some fun fan fic to read

I can't even figure out what this means? is he saying Ray harmed the Vet program? Forestry? how far west does it have to be? where is our cut line? The marine sciences have a building over there too... Biology? did he hurt the biology department? that is kind of north west. Like, I literally do not know what is even meant here. In particularly, if you are talking about Forestry, located on the far west side of Campus, Ed Ray is pretty responsible for elevating that program up to the #2 ranked program in the nation now. I find this entire statement outright absurd. Beyond that, he lead the single biggest university capital fundraising drive ever. Raised over a billion dollars, and in just less than a decade oversaw massive expansion of the university, including construction of multiple new buildings, both academic, student life, and athletics related. This here post is some next level tomf%#*ery.

At least in my lifetime he is the best President Osu has had, and I think a strong argument could be made for the best president in the history of OSU. Just the fact he lasted as long as he did and is getting to retire on his own terms is a testament. Even athletics-wise, he helped the Beavers make strides, build buildings, understood that athletics was an important aspect of the university (most past presidents felt it was a bane) and oversaw our most successful athletics department in school history. I guess everyone who wants to bash on him just thinks it was done in spite of him? What did he do wrong again? Is this because of the Pac-12 network? Or the Luke Heimlich situation? Seriously, why the hate? He certainly wasn't perfect, but everything he did I felt was done with scincerity, thought, honesty and nuance. I for one stand up and applaud him for his work and will miss him when he is gone. F. King has some f...king huge shoes to fill!

He did nothing about the forestry department's logging their "research" forest just to make somebody some hot cash. That and multiple other turtle maneuvers that showed a lack of leadership. Hey you asked. You named one thing, that unless you are in the forestry department yourself (are you?) you actually have to clue whether it was right or wrong thing to do, or what the motivations were, and further once it was brought to Ed Ray's attention it came to a stop, but really what is the point of a research Forrest if you aren't... doing research on it, including enacting resource management plans (my tea leaf reading of what was going on ). You expect the president of the university to be personally overseeing the fine details of every department and professors research projects and actions? I get it though, he is the head man, so he gets to be the ultimate backstop for blame when whiny conservationists gets their panties in a bunch. So strike one on Ray. Ok, so he screwed the pooch on a few acres of tree. Keep it coming. Lets air all the dirty "Multiple turtle maneuvers".
