Going west to east sucks. Not only do you have the 6 hour flight, you have to do everything 3 hours early. Sleep, eat , work schedule all screwed up.

I REALLLLY hope Rueck strongly considers running what Louisville did today on defense. I didn't see the game, but ESPN wrote about it here: www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28196109/top-ranked-oregon-trouble-paradise-loses-no-8-louisvilleI'm guessing it the type of 1-3-1 that Robinson ran at OSU that was so effective with the right personnel. I have to believe OSU has the length to run it. Imagine Mic or Simmons at the top of that zone, Kennedy in the middle, Jones at the bottom, and Destiny/Goodman/Tudor on the wings. We've been running more zone in general (turned a few games for already, including today), but this zone is one that really needs the right personnel to be deadly. I'm not sure OSU has it, but sure would like to see Rueck try it. The post is at the top of the zone, not a 5'10" guard. So, switch Brown and Pivec. Not necessarily. Robinson ran it with Seth Tarver up top.

I believe Jones to be more mobile and thus probably more effective at the point of the zone.

Thanks for saving those clips. Whenever the media tries to paint her as a great “team player” I can refer them to these. First, publicly humiliating her teammate Gildon (after SI’s own foul). Second, storming off the court, throwing a water bottle after fouling out. And worst of all, not even watching the finish of the game from the bench while her teammates on the court were still fighting to win it. That does not match up to my definition of a “team player”. I know that assessment may seem overly harsh to some. Obviously Sabrina is an outstanding player and an exceptional talent. Certainly one of the Best in Pac-12 WBB history, no doubt about it. But she ain't perfect. And she sure as hell isn't the savior, or the "new face of", women's basketball.

Hey, there! Watch what you say! You can't go around knocking a veritable icon of the game of basketball! She's the best player in the entire country! Even her exquisitely calculated flops are nothing short of something to swoon over. I dare say you'll never hear a negative word spoken about Her Majesty, the "I", the One on television. Follow their lead and conform to the script, okay?

During the Liberty game one of the players fell to the floor with some flare/drama. Ron Callan commented on it... sounded like he was gong to make a comparison to SI. He didn't - smart guy. Anyway it got me thinking that someone maybe put together a clip of her more flamboyant flops. A quick search didn't find one, but I'm guessing one is out there. Go Beavs.

I don’t have one... but, I will support the total dislike of her demeanor and attitude. She is not a teammate, she is a spoiled ‘all eyes on me ‘ type. Let me ask others who disagree to compare her team play and overall game to Sydney, Jamie and, more recently, Mikayla. I would take ANY OF THEM over having to see her flops and other antics. I do agree that she is good, but to carve your name into the history books due to triple doubles is a pretty weak record. I would have taken Kelsey Plum’s record before I recognized SI. Now , 10 points, 10 steals and 10 REBOUNDS, might be noteworthy.. but 10 ‘ assists’, when the head coach forces the others to make sure she gets her 10 assists every game is, well , just a little curious. Mikayla , if she was not such a team player could do it with the rebound metric.

I certainly get that Ionescu's demeanor can be a turn off. I don't get casually dismissing her triple double record. If it was easy to do it, more players would do it. Nicole Powell was a heck of a player, she held the Pac 12 record for triple doubles for years. Ionescu absolutely smashed the old record. I think she tied Powell's record during her soph year.

One question:
Who would you rather have your daughter/granddaughter, hell anyone, choose as a role model, Mik or i?

One question: Who would you rather have your daughter/granddaughter, hell anyone, choose as a role model, Mik or i? Is that the point? Role models? And, asking in this forum it's a rhetorical question. On a uck forum? Again, bashing an opponent is childish and reflects poorly on Beaver fans. No one asked for anyone to like her, but this just making crap up about her as a teammate, coach forcing teammates to get her stats, etc. etc. etc. is beyond ridiculous.

They both seem like fine young women to me. As it happens, I have a daughter their age. She is imperfect, just as we all are, but she is fortunate not to be judged by strangers on the internet.

Ion on national broadcast said her coaches were yelling at her to grab "all the rebounds" so she could get a triple double. How are her team mates supposed to see that? But that's on her coaches, not Ion. Both Rueck and Tinkle have specifically said they were not going to send in a player, "just to get a triple double" to quote Tinkle. Why is stating these facts "childish", reflecting poorly on ourselves, and "beyond ridiculous"?
Ion is friends with at least two of the Beav's so I'll take it that she must have good qualities. I think it's just a shame that her coaches doing their best to stuff her stats when they can will mean that one of the best players I will have ever watched will, in my mind anyway, have an ? by her accomplishments.
