....been a win! That was a season defining loss that will likely demoralize this team to potential winlessness! There are always at least two ways to respond to a loss like this. There were losses to teams we should’ve beaten in the Riley years. The team always improved. CGA let the defeats kill the team.

Let's see how they respond.

Even when GA was here, I wouldn’t have put many losses on the coaching staff. Sure they recruited the players and put them in horrible alignments and played guys out of position and a whole host of other garbage, but most of those games we were beat before we set foot on the field.
But last night.....man. Not using Gebbia when Luton floundered all second half was tough to swallow after Smith said in the pregame show that last week validated his belief that they had two guys that they can score with. Sidelining AP (unless he was hurt) for the second half was tough to swallow. The downside of the fake punt was SO MUCH WORSE than the upside would’ve been had it been completed, it seemed like a risk that you take when you are Portland St. playing Arkansas.
We hear all the time that players have to learn how to win. I think the coaching staff does too. Defense did enough. Offense had options they didn’t use. Special teams was adequate. Coaching gets a D- for that game. I hate saying that too.

I agree how can our QB only throw for less than 50 yards in an entire half?? lets give 1B a shot to see what he can do in a half!! not sure if we only have 1 receiver or what but we got to shake some things up to give recruits and fans some hope for future.

Lol... says the guy who thinks he knows who is comparable yet knows little of the factual info. And, then posts the disparaging remarks he so disdains?! 🤣🤣🤣 You yourself implied we enjoy the ride, which you were not? Or, is that a complete misinterpretation? And, knowing more than you about these situations, being in educational field and having colleagues still there is indeed more than you know. Never claimed expertise over other. But, certainly more than debt is a great way to make $ financial guy in this instance! Lol... hint, it's not concerning educational institutions. PS- guy who doesn't know the details, changes the target then accuse others of insecurity... hmmmm who felt threatened? 🤯🍻 Hopefully you can have a positive impact on the failing public education system in the state of Oregon. Speaking of debt , do you have any advice on how we should handle the 20 plus billion in PERS debt or is it 30. I know you are sensitive too debt so I thought you might have some ideas on how to resolve that issue. Just imagine what is going to happen when the pending recession which might overshadow 2008 hits!! PERS is going to have to default or hope there is no adjustment for inflation so they can pay off with devalued currency.

They were favored by 7....but damn, we should've won that game. If you'd told me Hawaii would only get 31 and we were +2 in turnovers, I'd have taken that before kickoff for sure. AND 200 yards rushing out of JJ!

If Luton ain't getting it done downfield it is time to pull out the stops, bring in some TEs put BOTH of those guys in the backfield and get real creative. and if that doesn't work. you bite the bullet and bench the kid. I know Smith is worried about that. It is a hard thing to do to pull your starter. It immediate creates controversy and can get in his head. but Luton played like s%#t the second half. no ifs, ands, ors, or buts about it. Coaches needed to coach here. make the adjustment. I said in the other thread, it is a cliche I hate, but the team, all of it, needs to learn how to win.

Smith did a Riley stuck with a guy inspite of the facts and sent a bad message to the second string guy.

Luton couldn't hit his own foot in the 2nd half. So why did Smith leave him there?
Niner's decisions may well have contributed substantially to this latest defeat. Starting to lose faith in him and his program.

Starting to lose faith in him and his program. It's not like you haven't been patient. 1.2 seasons is a long time. I think we all expected a ferrari by now. Well, i didn't, but thats because i am clueless about how easy it is to build a contender.

JS got to give him his shot. MB.

At least he only had a headache!
