So far we have, Take down the yuuuge trees that make a mess and ruin everything around them. Re-landscape with as many new, ornamental trees as can possibly be squeezed in there, while adding a state of the art skate park/jet pack launching pad and a grand marquee that also doubles as a bike rack for no less than 100 bikes. Did I miss anything? Electric car charging station? I've always thought a zoo-style, live Beaver exhibit would make for some great opening video opportunities during games. Udub is always showing shots of their stupid dog on the sidelines. Colorado runs out a dang Buffulo! How great would the Civil War be with some live action shots of actual Beavers? Is that too much to ask? Screw it... go all out... Create an entire "moat-like" covered ecosystem that fronts Gill and around the north side. Bridges access across with viewing platforms.

What happens inside the building is more important than the aesthetic of the edifice and its grounds. But any upgrade here is an improvement as the building has greater visual appeal on the inside than outside.
Since there has been a decline in interest in the men's game accompanied by an increase in patronage by fans of the women's game (see graphic below - click to enlarge), consideration might have been preferentially given to landscape design elements that might appeal to the fans of the growing side of the sport. I vote my approval of the changes.
PS - you can no longer see the men's basketball attendance in the graphic as it is now lower than women's basketball attendance.

Women out drawing the men sucks, I get the women’s success has a lot to do with it but it’s just not right.

See what we can come up with when we put our heads together! It seems so easy.

Whether it is a changing demographic, environmental concerns, mandatory plantings, etc - all urban commercial and institutional projects will have a portion of the project as landscaping - bank on it - it is the law. And, bike racks, skateboard ramps, graffiti walls, moats filled with alligators and drawbridges aside, it is a good thing - when properly constructed.
Regarding attendance, nothing against WBB, but come and talk to me about attendance when the records (if?) of both MBB and WBB are roughly the same - then let's compare attendance. Last I checked, the viewership/ attendance of WNBA and NBA aren't even close.

I'd think an artist with a bit of creativity could turn Gill into one of the nation's preeminent art deco neon lighted buildings.

I think an actual live beaver dam on Mary’s creek upstream of Reser would be awesome. It sure as hell would better than that on-campus graveyard they have down at ü°.

Of course first you would need a “Mary’s creek” in Corvallis. Than you could proceed. Maybe Oak Creek would be a better choice since it’s right next to Reser. I can’t believe that you would disrespect the creek that way by naming it Mary’s. Pitiful. Learn to spell wherebeavo.

Last I checked, the viewership/ attendance of WNBA and NBA aren't even close. My comment strangely didn't appear when posted. I agree with what you're saying on the men's vs. women's game in general, but my comment was specific to OSU. Thirty years of incompetent leadership at OSU has led to the disparity in attendance today. OSU has the fewest wins in MBB over that time period among the Power 5 schools. A question was asked last season about where have all of the men's basketball fans gone? The chart suggests that they're now watching the women's game. And with some wins, some of them will likely come back to the men's game but I believe that as long as Scott can continue building a power house, women's attendance will stay strong.
My thought is that fans of the men's game are so beat down that we're not talking about the program, we're relegated to talking about lipstick on the pig, or in this case, arguing about the trees and concrete on the outside.

Will there be a missile silo type structure that opens up on the plaza to launch a 15 minute firework show after every win? (This is for all the local dog owners)

If skateboarding is hipper than bicycles, OSU should focus on something hipper than skateboarding. Perhaps a jetpack park? even a jetpack park, as goofy as that sounds and undoubtedly would be, beats the hot deciduous tree action. Every singe commercial break for a televised sporting event let's show the audience that the epicenter of Oregon State sports is experiencing root upheaval. My wife and I were out walking the other day and noticed that there are now skateboard racks in front of Dixon, among other places...... Took me moment to figure out what they were, so I guess I am still getting hip to skateboards, not to speak of jetpacks..... Go Beavers! (and go skateboarders!)

I'm surprised no one has suggested underground parking like a fan from the other school down the road did for Autzen years ago.

Gill is built in a similar fashion, it appears, to many late 40's early 50's structures that would stay standing even in the event of a nuclear attack (though with the reactor on campus I once saw a 70's targeting map from a civil defense file that had OSU targeted with some extremely powerful missiles by that time), so I think it might outlast most of us when it comes to consideration of replacing it.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but wouldn't that same "incompetent leadership" be responsible for OSU having one of the best women's program's in the country, with the highest attendance (year-in, year-out) in the Pac-12? Or is management only responsible for failures, not successes like baseball, WBB, gymnastics, men's soccer, etc. (despite what many believe, Pat Casey did not build that baseball program all by himself. He had ample institutional support).
