Good. Heard she was also looking at tsdtr.
Wonder if Kentucky pays women's players too.

That is very tough for the Utes. They had the pieces to be a solid Pac-12 team in the future. I was very impressed with Gylten, Edwards, and Torres this season, and they had Kemery Martín and Lola Pendande on the way.

Scherr to Oregon. They’re on their way to a top-5 class.

What is Graves selling/telling/saying or spiking the bunch bowl with? He must have a convincing message. Or, is it this in combination with the newer arena and related facilities bling...
I know Gill has a charm all its own and the idea of a new arena for OSU has been kicked around and smacked down pretty hard on this board, but count me in the small minority that supports and believes OSU needs a new, modern, arena. Now if I just had 300 million to give to OSU....
p.s. don't try finding out about Maddie Scherr on ESPN women's basketball recruiting page. It's been down for 2-3 days.....and remains so.
p.s.s. Prospectsnation lists Scherr as a Point Guard (I think ESPN has has her just as a guard) for 2020. Anyhow, with Oregon commit PaoPao also listed as a PG for 2020 (and not to forget they have PG Jaz Shelley checking in for 2019), would Clark and/or Van Lith STILL have Oregon high on their radar?? Of course OSU has plethora of bigs in its 2018 + 2019 classes, so anything is possible I guess.

I like Maddie Scheer, so we'll have to see what type of culture they are building down there. One thing is obvious, with the players they are bringing in for 2019 and now committed for 2020, the chances that they all stay at Oregon are slim and none. That may not hurt them though, as they had a big exodus last year, but still have the players to make it to the final four.
I really believe that in the long run, Oregon State is going to be the better program, but it looks like the ducks may hang in there. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the Pac-12 can hang with the top of the Pac. The Beavs, ducks, Stanford, and UCLA look like they are all going to be at the top for years to come, Arizona State is always tough, and Arizona, and maybe Utah are on the rise. I'm not sure the rest of the teams can keep up.
It's more important than ever that the Beavs find a quality point guard to take over after Destiny is gone. I know how much most of you want Van Lith, but there are others out there, and either Destiny or Aleah, or both, should be around for the next two years, so it's not panic time (not that anybody on this board is in panic mode).

With respect to other PAC 12 schools, USC has strong recruiting class coming in next year. They, however, seem to be able to attract highly ranked recruits (no doubt caught up in the allure of living in South Central Los Angeles and playing in front of literally dozens of fans) and then achieve nothing with them. With the departure of Anigwe, I think Cal will start a downward spiral as Washington did after Plum and Osahor left.
As a whole, though, the conference certainly looks like it will continue to be very, very strong going forward. We're well situated for next year, but we lose a bunch to graduation next year. Recruiting well for 2020 is critical if we're to continue being competitive.

Hailey Van Lith and Caitlan Clark both made the USA Under 19 team.... So also did Belibi and Brink who are both headed to Stanford.... Very impressive that HVL & CC made this team....Both are still in h.s. going into their Senior seasons....Both are on OSU's active recruiting radar, and hopes are high in Beaver Nation that we can land one or both. However, as has been noted elsewhere on this board, both are being hotly pursued by other National powers...This will be a real test of our recruiting prowess.. www.usab.com/news-events/news/2019/05/wu19-team-named.aspx

A school a player(s) chose is a sign of where they feel more comfortable as a student, player, and person. A school can be highly adept at recruiting and still not land their key recruits. Getting high caliber recruits interested is largely due to a program's success, keeping them interested to be on their short list is selling the program and school thru your stated "recruiting prowess". But not being selected is not a failure of the said process. Too much goes into the decision that folks on recruiting sites/boards will never really know. It is also why the transfer rate is skyrocketing... WBB seems to be following the trend that MBB seemed to start. Kids and parents ultimately do not know if the school/program is the right fit until "wearing" it for a year or so.

baseba1111 says: "A school can be highly adept at recruiting and still not land their key recruits."
Yeh, maybe. But it seems to me that being highly adept at recruiting pretty much means signing many of the recruits you are recruiting - otherwise you're not very adept....(Do we think of a car salesman as "highly adept" if he doesn't sell any cars?)
When we say "She is a great recruiter" it pretty much implies that many of the players she recruits actually sign on the dotted line.
Personally, I have not heard comments along these lines: "She is a great recruiter but she has never signed anyone."
"Recruiting prowess" basically has a bottom line definition. It's a pragmatic term. It doesn't need a lot of churning.
To me it means a program has a good track record signing who they are chasing.
GO BEAVS !!

"sign key recruits" certain doesn't equate to "she (PS-men also recruit in WBB) has never signed anyone"... at least try to be "pragmatic"... LOL Recruiting is about creating a "customer base"... so some of those actually do "buy"... you are not unsuccessful if they all do not. And only to those who have never been involved does it indeed have a "bottom line definition"... LOL! GREAT recruiters aren't those that only sign who the "are chasing", they get kids invested in looking at the school, and that leads to more kids looking, etc. By your definition most recruiters are a failure... have 10-15+ top tier kids of interest early on... 3-6 may keep your school on their short list... 1-3 top tier players actually sign. And, of course those that sign are lauded as key targets... because they actually wanted to attend that school, not because they signed the best players they were chasing. Kids make the decision not the recruiting prowess... that is the bottom line.

Thanks for the reply, baseba1111 - I guess... I was going to respond to your comments, but to tell the truth, I cannot figure out what you said or why you are saying it...
I'll shoulder the blame on that one....Time for me to move on.. I'm not highly adept at rescuing this exchange...
