I'm not going to completely disagree with base (think I'm running a fever), but
A- I think the sitting part has to do with defense and not offense.
B- Each year in the tournament the Beav's have lost due to a lack in offensive aggressiveness, my thinking, someone out there may think differently. I think that Destiny's attitude will be the oomph eventually to get them to the top.
C- Destiny's passing has adjusted to her team mates, in particular her passes to Jo have been great lately.

“It’s phenomenal,” Graves said. “A state our size, we’re not one of the bigger ones, so to have two elite programs and programs that aren’t going anywhere ... It’s not like we’re just flashes in the pan." I think that's just a little premature Kelly! You're right now just a flash in the pan. Let's see how well your program does in the next 4-6 years. If you make it to the NCAA tournament 2018-2025.....then you might can say " It’s not like we’re just flashes in the pan." Some other program up the road has already accomplished 8 straight years. The essence of this entire thread: UOregon is elite. No they're not. Two Pac-12 Titles in a row is elite. Not as elite as five NCAA tournament invitations in a row, UOregon is an elite team. No they aren't.

My posts should not be taken as a criticism of Destiny. She is a great player, but one that still has a bit to learn about playing the point. As I stated most of these problems are habits that have been picked up in high school playing on talent devoid teams ( as most high school teams are ). Destiny is not even close to being as ball dominant as two players that Cal had at the point, and even they made great strides by the time they were Jr's and now are both playing point in the WNBA. All it takes is for the light to come on. I think that this season is still in play for that to happen with Destiny. When it happens this team will be really hard to beat.
I also think that on cold shooting nights the team really misses Kat. Having one more shooter really ups the odds that someone will be hot. We also know she had that quick release which allowed her to get that shot off when most would have to pull it back. This made other teams have to relegate a good defender to face guard her freeing up other players and opening lanes. Goodman also has a really quick release. One thing that many do not notice is the effect Kat had on the defense. She was also a lock down defender last season and that would have made a difference this season. Goodman really improved her defense this year. Last year that weakness kept her off the court in many games.
It seemed to me that early on no one played defense as well as last year including KMac and Kat. I suspect that until later in the season the emphasis was less on defense rather developing chemistry on offense with the new up tempo game and new players. Everyone seems to have improved their defense as the season wore on.

“We were out of sync. Obviously without Ruthy we had to kind of draw up some stuff on a napkin and go. I thought the second half we played much better but give Oregon State credit, they made the plays down the stretch, the stops when they needed and a couple of big baskets and they made their free throws. ... Maybe one of these days I’ll get these guys here in Gill."
Well Kelly, maybe one of these days you’ll understand 💡that it’s not all about you...
Naaah..

After watching Taylor Chavez play, I like the advantage we'll have at guard next year with Goodman, Slocum and Pivec. Assuming SI leaves early, as is expected. Draft is in April; if she's not enrolled for spring term, she's gone. Look for uo to spend search aggressively for a grad transfer guard. www.draftsite.com/wnba/mock-draft/2019/

Point of comparison: OSU WBB Season Tickets (General Admission) - $92. UO WBB - $49. For reserved, it's $150 vs $99. Rueck is generating more dollars for his school than Graves by a long shot. (And doing it in a much smaller town.) Never thought I'd see the day when Beavers were bragging about OSU charging more for a ticket than UO was. This has to go in the top ten of hot takes on this board. It's no "Dutch Bros. subliminal messaging" or "TJ, Chad and DA would be a deadly duo," but it's pretty good.

When Graves came into the post-game interview, there were a couple of water bottles on the table. Also, a staffer at Oregon State had placed a Dutch Bros. coffee cup on the table. They’re a Beavers’ sponsor and the cup is always there at the post-game news conference. But as the Ducks coach talked about the key possessions, and frustrations, his eyes occasionally drifted toward that coffee cup.
As Graves got up to left, he picked the cup up, examined it, and smiled.
Then he set it down.
“I get it,” he said, as he walked off, “well done."
Three days earlier, the Oregon coach had marveled at the home sellout at Matthew Knight Arena after he’d defeated OSU. He said of that sellout, “We didn’t have a promotion where you buy a cup of coffee and you get a ticket.”
He got his cup of coffee at Gill Coliseum on Monday night.
Also, he got dealt a loss.
WARNING! Its a piece by that loser columnist Baldy

WARNING! Its a piece by that loser columnist Baldy Who cares how people got into the game? The point is they showed up. My son got a free ticket to the game last night through the Boys and Girls Club. He wouldn't have gone without that free ticket. Guess what? He wants to go to another women's basketball game now, because he had a blast at the game. So you know what? I'll probably buy tickets for the family if we can make one of the few remaining games. I thought OSU should've incorporated the gymnastics meet on Sunday into their "get tickets for both CWs for $23" promo. Make it $30 for the weekend. Do this more often. Try to schedule one weekend in the fall, winter and spring that is loaded with home events and have a "spend a weekend with the Beavs" promo that encourages people to stay all weekend in Corvallis going to football/volleyball/soccer or basketball/wrestling/gymnastics or baseball/softball/track or whatever. Just give people a reason to come, and they'll come back on their own.

She not only is a very dangerous shooter who demands defensive awareness at all times, but she plays tough defense and gets the loose balls. In many ways, she is a stat sheet filler like Katie and Mik are. Her forte is shooting from deep, but she’s a very valuable all-around piece in our team composition. Losing her was a big blow. We’ve weathered it reasonably well, but no question in my mind that our margin for error against really good teams shrunk when she went down.

Agree 100% with the cost of tickets / how did people get them post. The revenue side of things is an entirely separate issue. I have season tickets, and think they're a bargain. I'd pay double for them and be OK with it. Would I pay quadruple? Probably not. But it really doesn't matter how I got my ticket, how much I paid for it, or whether a sponsor like Dutch Bros defrayed some of the cost of that ticket - just as it doesn't matter if my wealthy Uncle Phil defrayed all of my share of the cost of the venue where I go to watch the games for whatever price I happen to pay for the ticket.
All that matters is people getting a chance to enjoy a game in person. The object of the exercise is that, not filling the university's coffers.
