Still 10 days away but remember Timea and Raegan will play om the Jordan Brand Classic:
"The event has been canceled each of the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will return in full-force on Friday, April 15 at Chicago's Hope Academy. The Girls Game will lead the way with a 5:00 p.m. tipoff, followed by the Boys Game at 7:00 p.m. CST."

The highly ranked 2022 recruiting class of the Beavs may not be over yet. With coaching changes at various schools the Beavs are searching for players who have reopened their recruitment.
2 small PG's are among players the Beavs are taking a look at. Yonta Vaughn, today announced she is reopening her recruitment on twitter. Her post was 'liked' by Jenny H. Yonta is a 5"7" guard who was ranked #72 in the 2022 class by Hoopgurlz and had signed with West Virginia. Yonta is the type of guard many posters on this board would approve of. She is quick, can get to the basket, but can also hit the 3. She is described as a lead guard with a combo game.
The other PG the Beavs are showing interest in is Hana Muhl, from Croatia, Hana is the sister of UCONN player Nika Muhl. Hana originally signed with Illinois. Jenny is following both Hana and her father on twitter, and her father is following Jenny back.
Despite the defections of current team members, joining the highly ranked 2022 Beaver recruiting class may be very appealing to players who are reopening their commitment. Especially appealing would be the opportunity to be a PG in this class, the one spot that is open at this point, with the other recruits being top 10 ranked post/forwards and promising shooting guards/wings. Even if the Beavs were to bring in a grad transfer at Point, being a PG in this class would give the shot at immediate playing time and line the player up to be the starting PG the following three seasons.
Not sure it will be easy for the Beavs to land a player from the state of Maryland (Yonta) or the country of Croatia (Hana), but these are two to keep on the watch list the next few weeks, along with other players who are re-opening their commitment as schools are going through coaching changes.

I want a bigger splash than this. Too much risk to go with a player ranked at #72.

Jenny H started following a class of 2022 player from Alabama, La'Niya Baity, a few days ago. Finding information on La'niyah is not easy. She's a 5'7 guard. It looks like she may not have played this past season, but I didn't see any mention of why she didn't play (if she didn't play). Her junior year, 2020/2021, stats were 11ppg, 6apg, 4rpg. It looks like all the coaches following her are from pretty small schools, so I would definitely classify her as an under the radar recruit. I didn't mention her until now because La'Niya is now following all of the beaver coaching staff (but only Jenny follows her so far). She seems so under the radar that I would be shocked if the Beavs offer, but with the need at guard, they may be seeing something that makes it worth taking a long look. SR certainly has had players in the past that weren't necessarily highly sought. There is a minor amount of highlights on her twitter page if interested.

Raegan appeared to have injured her knee. It was non-contact.
She’s right back in. Whew.

German PG Martha Pietsch appears to potentially be a late addition to the 2022 class:
Looks like a little bit of a better version of Faustino. Certainly wouldn’t count on her a whole lot to contribute.

I'm hoping there is not really much to this. Just looking at her stats, she's a 5'5 PG who doesn't have any head turning stats, and doesn't really seem to be that good of a shooter. Until I hear something about her that I don't know right now, the only thing good I see about this is if she were best friends with Annika Soltau, and they really wanted to play together. I like what little I've seen of Annika's game.
Obviously, with the Beavs only at 9 or 10 players, adding this scholarship doesn't hurt anything, but I'm not one counting on this being a big move by the Beavs.

The only stats I could find were from a couple years ago, but they weren’t good. I saw her recently listed at 165cm… not quite 5’5”. That kind of size in PAC-12 basketball just doesn’t work well. We already have a short point guard who is undoubtedly a far better shooter and knows how to run the offense and play defense. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen.

We have not had very good luck in the international arena with guards

I wouldn't judge by anything good or bad from more than a year ago. Unless a player has been hurt, they're naturally going to be better now than they were a year or two ago.

We have no idea what kind of season osu will have. We have talent, and the roster isn't finalized yet. The sky is falling types can panic if you want, but I'm optimistic. I believe in Scott Rueck...he hasn't forgotten how to coach. Up until this year,Scott would have been in the tournament 8 straight years except for a covid year when there was no tournament. Step back and look at Scott and his career...
