The NCAA is a pathetic organization, and they won't do a thing to undo any harm they have caused. The toothpaste is out of the tube, and they won't try to put it back in. Favoring just certain colleges? Anybody with an 8th grade education could see that NIL would do exactly that. They could see it on the very day it was proposed. The NCAA did it anyway. They won't walk that one back either. It wasn't up to the NCAA. NIL is an implementation of NCAA v. Alston whereby the SCOTUS ruled that compensation limitations violated federal anti-trust laws. Although true that the NCAA didn't "do" the NIL they didn't anticipate and prepare for its eventuality. The ruling wasn't some sudden process. It was almost as if the NCAA put all its eggs in the ruling coming down in their favor. The NCAA should have been prepared with guidelines and policies in anticipation. Instead, nothing, chaos, and now a reactionary attempt to control the abuses.

I don't know what y'all imagine the NCAA can really do. They can't stop the athletes from getting paid, period. They can't stop third-parties from paying the players, period. The only power the NCAA has is to limit how the schools themselves pay the players, which they do.
If you don't like the way this is working out, call your congressman. But here's the political reality - only college sports fans are upset about this. Much of the world considers college sports to be exploitative, gladiatorial, and environmentally insensitive. Most of the rest just don't know enough to care.

How is the portal not recruiting? It’s not conventional but these players have to be signed in order to play. There’s been a lot of discussion about how the Arizona girls coach conducts herself with regard to the portal. It’s because recruiting is turning to that venue also. She has become a student of that to help her fill her needs. We all sat and watched her and a few others jump right in on players as they declared. Portal is recruiting using aggressive tactics instead of developing connections. That to is recruiting now also. Become a student of it and jump in their and bid to get. We shall see how good or bad this is. The ncaa can put the stop on it if it gets to favoring just certain colleges. That last sentence................

I see that her and Kat Tudor are following each other on instagram as well. Likely she has taken notice while Kat has been in Germany. She follows Marie as well, which would be expected. She also follows several USA college stars. I didn't notice that she follows any current Beaver players yet, although her and the coaches do follow each other. She also follows Anika, but Annika's page is private so I can't tell if they are friends. Interesting to see that Katie F, and Arizona coaches are following Annika.

They will all be here very very soon. I see a lot of gold neck tassels, usually signifying academic excellence. Nobody can accuse SR of not caring about the student part of student-athlete.
