As a side note, Carleigh Wenzel mentioned in a post above chose Virginia Tech. She orginally committed to Texas Tech back in 2016 and then decommitted in 2018. Last November she came out with a final 6, and then last Friday she chose Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech was NOT one of her final six. Yeah, she seems to have some decision problems. Possibly one reason the Beavs didn't pursue her. Looks like she won't end up in the Pac-12 after all........unless she changes her mind again.

With the bizarre season that doesn't count it could easily create a bottleneck for some teams. I wonder if any schools pulled their offer because of it. Next year our freshman class will consist of four really good guards/wings and a huge 6'9"post. In a couple years they could all potentially start together. That is if they all stay here.
Add in the sophomore class of Jones and Brown and the future dos look bright.

Alyssa Crockett is now off the board, committing to Michigan. She was someone I thought had an outside chance of landing with the Beavs if option A didn't go through.
Just following social media, I'll be a little surprised if Lily Hansford doesn't end up a Beaver. She follows the Beavs very closely.
Timea obviously likes the Beavs a lot too. I hope she likes the Beavs enough to choose them over Stanford and UCLA. That's a real nice final 3.
I'm really curious to find out what the Beavs plan B is in case they don't land Timea, but I don't really want to find out plan B, because I hope they land plan A.

While Crockett really seemed to like OSU, I believe she wasn’t planning on going far from home (she’s VERY close to her brother who has special needs). Similar to Ellie Mack but with a higher upside. OSU also never offered. Staff no doubt seems to be putting all their eggs in one basket w/ Gardiner.

Timea would be a great get ... if I was down to three 1) Stanford 2) UCLA 3) OSU Of course I would consider Academics, and personal preferences as two major components ... The knock on the top two is ; How long will TARA stay at Stanford versus retiring ? No one knows , plus playing time at her position. Someone as talented as she is wants to play early and 'start' The knock on UCLA , I think , is that they get great talent , but always seem to underachieve. I think there coach would not be fun to play for -nor does she have the patience to develop each player. As regards the Beavers - Scott will be around forever and he rewards 'growth' and coaches 'growth' at every position ! I know that FAMILY is thrown around by everyone - but, to an outsider ... it certainly seems that this is an actuality with the women at OSU ! Scott has got this program to an entirely different level with his approach and, even playing at an elite level now , this team is on the upswing as regards performance and sustainable excellence ! I like where we are at ... especially if it is a mutual win win !

Stanford is young and deep. Every player wants to show their wares, but a monkey wrench is thrown in there with the pull of the Stanford education. Timea is a very talented athlete,so she obviously can compete with anyone on the Stanford roster. There are a lot of talented girls sitting on that Stanford bench. At osu,she will have TVO,Goforth,Mitrovic,Brown,Jones,Samuel,Reagan, and Adlee...a group of 4 and 5 star athletes too. Tough choice for this young lady...hope she is a Beaver!

Itching for a commitment, but I doubt we’ll see one, from Gardiner, at least until the season is completed. She would fit really well into our program in terms of playing style and culture. Surrounded by great talent and great people!
Just going to call it now- I suspect she’ll be coming to Corvallis. Hope I’m right.. go beavs!

I'm guessing Gardiner will either announce after her season, after the NCAA championship, or sometime in June. She may want to take official visits to her three finalists to fully soak in each school's culture and program.
I'd be pretty surprised if she waited until after June given she already has it down to three.
Her team is playing (and winning) in the Utah 6A state championship today.
Interesting contrast: Utah gym is full with no social distancing, Illinois had no fans at the beginning of the year and has parents now.

State championship for Gardiner's squad, despite Gardiner not being able to play (she has crutches). They're post headed to BYU is a great player. I really like 2023 Mendelson:

Whatever her decision was going to be, I wouldn't think she would announce it and draw attention away from her team while they're competing for a state championship. Now that they've won it, that isn't a factor, but perhaps she wants to wait until she's off crutches. That might not be the image she's looking for at that announcement. If she does come here, however, maybe some day she can be honored by having her numbered crutch raised to the rafters to join those of Kat, Taya, Kennedy, Adlee, Raegan, Taylor ... who am I missing? Oh yeah, Jelena. With the exception of Kat, all those ladies could be on the team in 2022. Why not another who has more than a passing familiarity with crutches?

I also would not be surprised if she wanted to take official visits first. That being said, if she does want to commit a little sooner, she can do so without a photo op picturing her on crutches. A headshot is what Talia did, and some recruits don’t even feature a current picture. When she’s fully ready to commit, she’ll make it happen!

We are doing great except for one small thing. Who's going to be giving Talia some rest time?
