Rueck has tried to recruit some really good Pg's to OSU. Clark was high on his list and several others.this position still seems to be a major need going forward. All the girls comming in 2021 and 22 look like 2's that can play spurts at the 1. I may be wrong Rough loss for us losing Slocum this year just because of the recruiting issue. Slocum was a 1 that can play the 2 and Aleah is a 2 that can play the one. Talia says she's going to be a PG next year. From what I've seen on video she will be a good one.

Through five games, 2022 recruit Timea Gardiner is averaging 12.6 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 4.2 APG. Her team is 5-0 and ranked #1 in Utah. She plays mostly the 3/4 positions because they have two other good post players, 6-4 BYU commit Emma Calvert (#74 in 2021) and 6-5 Maggie Mendelson (#21 in 2023).
Of course, neither Blacklock nor Beers are currently in action after tearing their ACLs, though Colorado will not being playing HS basketball until February 1, as of now.

There's not a lot of recruiting news happening right now, so this may be something you may want to take a glance at. Lots on names you may be familiar with as the Beavs either are currently recruiting or have been recruiting. prospectsnation.com/2022-elite-100-watch-list#fourhalf

Betts to Stanford - there's no end to it!!๐ The current Stanford roster could be broken into two teams and they would place 1st and 4th in the Pac.... And they keep adding to their awesome collection of talent....
The Beavs have their own impressive collection of talent, but it's not as good and no way near as deep as what Stanford is looking at.
With the addition of a couple quality players who can slash and attack Rueck will continue to field strong teams. But making it into the top 3 in the conference is going to be a real challenge in the next few years.... And, if Coach Rueck can't locate (or develop) slash and attack players, 5th place is more likely. GO BEAVS!!

Lauren Betts committed to Stanford. Huge get for the cardinal. So now they will have Brinks, Prechtel and Betts. I think Prechtel has got to be thinking about how life can sometimes not work out right.

Following the emergence of Belibi and the strong start by Brink this season, last season's PAC-12 Sixth Person of the Year is getting just over 11 minutes of playing time per game, down from over 14 as a frosh. Prechtel's production with respect to scoring and rebounding is understandably down as well. A Stanford degree is a tremendous incentive to remain a Cardinal and not transfer out, but Prechtel may become so frustrated in her inability to earn additional minutes and decide to look at her immediate playing options elsewhere for '21-'22.

Betts heading to Stanford makes for even more anticipation on where Timea Gardiner chooses. If it's Stanford, oh my! If it's the Beavs, some very high level of basketball will be played when those two teams meet. Exciting times, but scary as well with the good recruiting that is going on in conference.

Other than several recent 5th year grad transfers (who had that nice Stanford undergrad diploma already in hand), I just can't come up with a name of anybody that transferred out.

Their team together likely will not finish first, so splitting them up would almost guarantee they wonโt.

If we're being honest, we're very close to being a perennial powerhouse, but we're not quite there. We just haven't been able yet to land that top 3 recruit that launches us into the realm of regularly signing them - so close, and yet so far.
Stanford, for example, got number 1 in 2019, number 3 in 2020, and now number 1 in 2022 - along with others closer to the level we've been able to get thus far. Hasn't happened for us thus far, but I do believe it will.
Maybe 2022 if we can can get Gardiner to go with Beers.
