Well, the news about HVL really sucks. So, unless OSU has some other very good, but under the radar point guard waiting in the wings to pick the Beavs for 2020-21, the team will have to be led by a yet to be determined freshman point guard recruit in 2021-22. And, if Destiny leaves for the pros after this season, which she easily could, OSU will only have 1 point guard next season (Goodman). This is not looking good for the Beavs at this time. The only good news is that a high level point guard recruit will see OSU as a real opportunity for lots of immediate, important playing time and leadership as a freshman in 2021-22.

Van Lith has eliminated Oregon State: down to UO, Baylor, Louisville, and UCLA. How many more scholarships does UO have for 2020??? They’re at a full 15, but not sure I see Yaeger and/or Giomi returning for their fifth years.

Also, who knows when she eliminated OSU...likely wasn’t super recent.

Van Lith has eliminated Oregon State: down to UO, Baylor, Louisville, and UCLA. I hope she goes to UCLA. I’m not scared of Cori Close’s coaching skills. I agree with you. I'm not in favor of Louisville, Baylor, or Oregon being even tougher and better than they already are. UCLA under Close under performs so best to have HVL join the weakest of the 4 teams IMO.

She want's the control... hope she chooses uo. Another example of that program never getting over the hump. All the money, all the hype - no 'Natty s'.

The need for guards, especially point guards, has now reached critical mass at OSU.
Recent number of guard recruits at OSU: 2018-19 ONE shooting guard 2019-20 ZERO (not counting walk-on guard Noelle Mannen) 2020-21 ONE shooting guard to date 2021-22 ZERO to date
side note: unless this changes soon, walk-on guard Noelle Mannen may get meaningful playing time after all, starting in 2020.

Van Lith has eliminated Oregon State: down to UO, Baylor, Louisville, and UCLA. What is the source? The ESPN article doesn't say that HVL eliminated OSU. It states "who is in the mix" and OSU wasn't listed. But I couldn't find where it stated OSU was eliminated?

There was certainly a time when OSU was in contention.

As it stands, for the 2020-2021 season, we'll have four players who are capable of playing the 1 and/or 2 -- Slocum, Goodman, Simmons, and Goforth. Throughout September, the staff was out to see five confirmed (there could be a few other) targets -- Payton Verhulst, Kelbie Washington, Greta Kampschroeder (2x), Talia von Oelhoffen, and Jersey Wolfenbarger. -- Out of that quintet, Kelbie Washington is the only "true PG." Wolfenbarger is definitely capable of playing PG, and I think Verhulst is too. I haven't seen a whole lot of von Oelhoffen, but I've read multiple places that she is a terrific passer. I have not seen enough of Greta to make a prediction on whether or not she is capable of playing the one. -- Goforth's talent will be maximized at both the two or the three -- she plays both very well, and I think that's where we'll see her for the bulk of her OSU career, and depending on Kat's situation and Jasmine's improvement, I think Goforth has a shot at being a four-year-starter. -- Samuel's talent will be maximized at the three from what I've seen on her. She has a nice shot and has length and athleticism. I think she'll see almost all of her time at the three.

Well, again, there has been no verified report that HVL has eliminated OSU. Just because some reporter stated what he believes are the schools that HVL is favoring doesn't verify that HVL has eliminated OSU. When I see something from HVL that states which schools are in, and which schools are out, OSU is still in the mix.

I figured that HVL would go somewhere she can reasonably expect to start as a frosh. I just hoped against hope she'd see the value of playing against/learning from two really good PG's here at OSU. Ah well, I really like watching her play so I hope she stays in the Pac-12.

If OSU was in the mix, they would have gotten a mention, unfortunately, they didn’t.

Again, there is absolutely no verification that HVL has eliminated any of the 8 schools she mentioned in February, 2019. I'm not saying she hasn't eliminated OSU, or, any other of the 8 universities, but I'm saying there has been no verified report that HVL has eliminated any of the 8 schools.
