Hey bubba, thanks for keeping us informed. I knew coaches had visited the week before the tourney started, and news was positive from that, and I was hoping to hear of an official visit, so this is good news. I hope she decides to go ahead and commit while out here. It would be great to get the ball rolling early and hopefully others hop on board as well. A number of programs have already landed commits, it's time for us to join them. Thanks again, bubba, for keeping us up to date!

I know nothing about the Arkansas program, but, when she's a freshman, they will have only one other player on the roster who's an ESPN top 100 recruit - Rokia Doumbia, PG, who was #97 in 2018. So the odds of big time success for the Arkansas program in the short term do not compare favorably to ours. When she arrives on campus here, Destiny, Aleah, and Taya will be seniors, and Kennedy, Taylor, and and Andrea (all three 5 stars like Sasha) will be sophomores. Unless her heart is in Arkansas, I certainly like our chances to get her.
A commitment from her in May would probably be a very good portent for our other recruiting for 2020. I would imagine all the top recruits are in a network that lets them know where others are leaning. Sasha's commitment to OSU might be based at least partly on her thinking that 1 or 2 others in that class are good bets to sign with us.

Caitlin Clark would also be a nice get....I believe signing two PG is not a bad thing. Both are capable of playing the 2 position.

They were/are(?, not following WNIT) playing their best hoops at the end of the season. They do have more than just one top-100 player on the roster, they will still have Chelsea Dungee and Amber Ramirez (top-10 recruit) who will be seniors when she would arrive. The lure of staying home and building up that program is obviously very attractive, but I sure do hope she chooses Corvallis. Goforth is mostly a 2/3 player. I would assume that she could play some 1 (along the lines of KTMac), but I think her game is best suited for the 2/3. Minutes for a 2/3 will be there, with just Aleah, Destiny(?), and Jazz (+ possibly Kennedy) as the guards and wings on campus when Sasha will arrive.

She's listed as a 6'0" Guard on my ESPN ranking

Dungee and Ramirez were transfers, from Oklahoma and TCU respectively. I had just looked back at Hoopgurlz for the last few years, which, of course, doesn't show them going to Arkansas. As stated above, I know nothing about the Arkansas program.
Goforth is indeed listed as a 6'0" guard.

Well, Neighbors only moved to Arkansas in 2017, so he hasn't had much time. His has four girls coming in - Hoopgurlz gives them all a 90, which is where our recruiting baseline has been (e.g. Kalmer, Thropay). Prospects Nation thinks they are a little better - it gives three of them 4 stars and one 3 stars, and ranks it as the #29 class in the country. So I'd say that his most recent class suggests that Neighbors is just a half-step behind Rueck. I don't think we can take it for Goforth for granted.

I can see this being a tough decision for Sasha. Stay at home and play in front of family while helping build a program or go play for an established program with a great culture that is coming off a great recruiting year (but players that do not play your position), but you are thousands of miles from home, and your family won't get to see every game.
I like our chances, but I don't think it's an easy decision to make.

I don't see Neighbors as much of a coach or a recruiter. I know Arkansas ties were a factor in him leaving UW, but the reality is that team was going from top 3 to the cellar after Plum and Osahor left, no matter who the coach is. That speaks to his recruiting and coaching acumen. 2013 to 2016 game plan - give the ball the Kelsey and sprinkle in some no jump 3s from Osahor.

Sasha Goforth's 3x3 team (Blue Star...) finished 5-2 (4th place or tied for third) in the latest tournament that concluded yesterday, April 14. Her team (with Ally Vantimmeren, Payton Verhulst, and Greta Kampschroeder) lost in the semis to the eventual champions, team TGB (Raven Johnson, Treasure Hunt, Olivia Cochran and Madison Hayes) which defeated team Quest (an all-star team of Paige Bueckers, Aliyah Boston, Samantha Brunelle and Hailey Van Lith) for the championship. www.usab.com/3x3/3x3-u18-women-nc/schedule.aspxThe Beavs will hit a home run if they can get Goforth, and a grand slam if they get her and Hailey Van Lith!
